An extraordinary pharmaceutical #chemist to celebrate for #BlackHistoryMonth - Alice Ball (1892-1916) who developed 1st effective treatment for #leprosy. Her research saved 1000s from exile & painful, ineffective lifelong treatment for leprosy, & she was a trailblazer for both women & Black scientists.
Ball studied #chemistry at UW earning a BSc & 2nd degree in pharmacy 2 years later.

Somehow I pictured the ‘world’s tallest filing cabinet’ as supersized in all dimensions, but you can’t dispute it does exactly what it says on the tin. #Burlington #Vermont #WeirdPointsOfInterest

Hello everyone!!! Welcome, please make yourselves at home. I've just boiled the kettle, and I think a nice slice of cake is in order here, don't you?
My name is Emmalena, and I’m a novelist from the UK, where I live with my fiance @ishambard. I'm a lover of vintage, cooking, baking, reading & writing. My first novel 'Ginsterpigs' is available on Amazon & other global booksellers.

Been seeing a lot about #ChatGPT lately and got my first question at the library this week from someone who was looking for a book that the bot had recommended. They couldn't find it in our catalog. Turns out that ALL the books that ChatGPT had recommended for their topic were non-existent. Just real authors and fake titles cobbled together. And apparently this is known behavior. 😮
Hikeshi baba is a yokai that appears as a scary old woman with white hair. She wanders from house to house late at night blowing out lanterns. While not dangerous herself, she creates dark and gloomy conditions which are suitable for other yokai to get up to all sorts of mischief.

“How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause... It is such a splendid sunny day, and I have to go.”
I'm not sure he'll post on here atm due to bad signal, but I was asked by the internet sensation that is @jimllpaintit to recreate one of his iconic artworks for his 10th (yep, 10th!) anniversary, so here's my #clay interpretation of Walter White Postman Pat! 🎉
Jim's asked some other artists to take part in the celebrations, so he'll be sharing their takes on his works over the next few days on Insta, FB, etc. 🥳

Thoughts on Episode 2 of Dinosaur with #stephenfry
So far, #Stephen #Fry is talking about accuracy the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park. While showing Iguanodons eating grass.
Something that didn't evolve until millions of years after the dinosaurs went extinct, much less existed 120+mya
Stones, glass houses?
I'm going to keep watching this and roasting it as I go. I don't blame the paleontologists. From what I have heard the production was not flexible, ironically, when it comes to accuracy.
When Matt moved into his new home, it was a blank canvas with no plants or wildlife. After removing the old shed and several patio slabs, Matt created a winding pathway to give the impression of space.
A few months later, he had created this!
"It was amazing to watch our garden come to life after dreaming of a space like this for so long". Now the garden is full of insects enjoying the pollinator-friendly plants 🦋 🐞🐝

I used to live in the United States. I went to Elementary School in a small town in Kansas, during the year that my dad did a teaching exchange with the local university. The year was 1979-1980, so I guess you could say that #JimmyCarter was my President. Which is OK by me.

I love shipwrecks and old washed up boats. I was fortunate enough when I arrived that there was good light and the tide was going out allowing for a nice reflection. This is the Peter Iredale Shipwreck on the Oregon coast.
