The roots of this tree in Hong Kong, photohraphed by Clément Bucco-Lechat, have grown over the paving stones and seem to follow the patterns that the pavers were laid in.

Meet the woman behind early @NASA_Landsat images: Dr. Valerie L. Thomas.

A self-taught programmer, she managed the development of Landsat image processing. Her work in the '70s helped show that satellite imagery could be used to support agriculture. go.nasa.gov/3EJMPgT #BHM

oscillo: I swing
Minimus spends his otium (free time) on his oscillum (swing). It's made from a tigillum (little log) tied to a branch of a cerasus (cherry tree) with linea (string).

🇭🇺🥐☕ I love this trip with EC 143 "Transilvania", pulled by a MÁV class 480, and its beautiful refurbished #MÁV🇭🇺 #diningcar 😍👍! It was a nice breakfast with croissants🥐, cappuccino ☕ and "Kaiserschmarren" on the way from #Vienna🇦🇹 to #Győr🇭🇺!

Trying to find my people on Mastodon. Please boost and follow me if you:

-Believe the lava from lava lamps must be returned to volcanoes, where it rightfully belongs.
-Mentally greet each dog you see just in case they are telepathic.
-Think that airplanes are too heavy to fly and refuse to listen anytime someone attempts to explain the physics of it to you.
-Argue that every marathon runner should shave their eyebrows to be a little bit faster.
-Want toddlers to eligible to run for president.

British cars of the 1950s & 1960s, photographed by yours truly in the late 70s.

1965 Humber Super Snipe parked outside Alan's Sweet Shop on Mauldeth Road, Manchester. Shame about the crappy plastic wheel trims.

This February was full of talks, theater things (active and passive) and a good amount of time to relax in between.

@feditips Are there any good resources or groups for newer instance owners? I find myself with a fair amount of ‘FAQ’ type questions and not a lot of places to go. #mastodon #instance

I found this taped to the door of the geography department at GWU today and it brought me so much joy. A guide to figuring out when a map was made based on features. Zoom in. It’s amazing.

My wife and I went to Barnes and Noble in Brookfield, Wisconsin yesterday to get pictures of "Mastodon for Dummies." The staff person who helped us find the shelf had me sign the book. Afterwards she said she'd add an "Author signed" sticker to the cover. That was fun!

Entering Harrow On The Hill

I like this station quite a bit. I think it was designed Stanley Heaps. This entrance, which I assume is the back, is probably one of my favourites on the entire London Underground network. Here's photography of the building reflected in a puddle.

Get used to seeing sled dog photos on my feed. The Iditarod starts this weekend. This is from Fur Rondy this past weekend. Just love the dogs! 💗

This is one of the many picturesque scenes that I passed two weeks ago while #snowshoeing in the White #Mountains, #NewHampshire. Because of the beauty of this #WinterWonderland, I made many stops to enjoy. Check out the frozen #waterfalls on the big boulder to the right of center and the frozen stream to its left. Beautiful! Looking forward to being back there real soon! #hiking #snow #ice #trees #nature #explore #outside #exercise #landscape #photography #LandscapePhotography
