Kona wanted to celebrate @AmyJSchneider's CHICAGO GUIDE TO COPYEDITING FICTION with me! She thought it was hers and gave it a few licks of enthusiasm.

I'm thrilled about this book. As a fiction editor, I follow Chicago style, but it's so nice to have an official guide specific to fiction editing! Plus, I'm stoked that (a) I'm included in the acknowledgments, (b), I'm listed as a conscious language resource, and (c) I'll be getting the book signed at ACES next week! Congratulations, Amy! ♥️

I'm non-binary which means I have to compile my gender from source

Arms and legs done! :D All that's left now is the mane and tail, and it'll be finished. :da_la:

Anyone have any name suggestions? :blobpatpat:

@feather1952 @LifeTimeCooking @Wolfie_Rankin Interesting - I have this one, the first cookbook I ever asked for, in 1974. I would never part with mine, either, the recipes are great!

Mornin’. Didn’t realise a formal #introduction was de rigueur on here - my bad. I’m the Bee Guy - the founder of the first and only native wild bee sanctuary on the planet - The Bee Sanctuary of Ireland. Not for profit social enterprise 24/7 365 advocating for our native wild bees. Not about honey bees - they’re fine. Only on here for the #bees & #planet. Heart on my sleeve, head in the stars, feet in a muddy puddle. Big plans. Need your support. Thoughtful brave disruption. Language matters.1/n

Glen Whitney and Alex Kontorovich are planning an art/science exhibit of polyhedra, arranged in space according to their numbers of vertices, edges, and faces. Euler's formula means that they will all lie in a plane!

They are looking for contributors to make polyhedra for the exhibit, in as many media as possible. Details at polyplane.org.

Since the plane V - E + F = 2 has only a finite area inside the bounds of the planned exhibit, there is a signup system - act quick to reserve your chunk of airspace!

Did you know the Girl Scouts have a comic artist badge? One more reason to love that organization. Anyway, happy #GirlScoutDay
PS- If you want to see something cool, check out how Heroic Girls, Empire's Comic Vault, and and artist Justin Greenwood put together an event that taught Girl Scout Cadettes about comic book creation. empirescomics.com/blog/girl-sc

Today's progress was way less than I would have liked.

I had to redo the same seam five times today (twice by hand) because I kept messing it up in different ways. Hours of wasted effort. Very frustrating.

But I got the front and back boning channels in. Tomorrow, the remaining boning channels, eyelets, and stitching the whole mess together.

Every now and then I despair of the wide swaths of concrete in our world, then I remember how delighted I was when I first visited Joe in NYC and learned the biggest city in America is actually rather lush where there is a spot to grow in, and full of lovely surprises like that entire house that was lost to ivy. All camera angles just looked like a lump of ivy, then there was this:

In case you’re wondering how much snow has fallen in the Sierra Nevada… A friend shared this photo of a gentleman shoveling snow off his ROOF in Quincy, California.

A formative moment for me as a young man was the day some older friends at Colby College, in Maine, took me to see the Gravity Monument on campus.

Colby was one of 14 schools to get a monument from the Gravity Research Foundation, an organization established by Roger Babson (founder of Babson College) seeking ways to harness gravity to reduce airplane accidents.

There is #wierdness in this world and it makes me happy.
