I’m a bit adrift here, but hello! I’ll plan to share my A+ political team’s work and — you guessed it — #Michigan political observations here. Proud to be covering the most politically interesting state with the prettiest lakes.

Spoiler alert: reveals completed jigsaw puzzle

Flurry of Wildflowers by Erin Hanson. Design by David Figueiras and Gema Palacio. 553 pieces. Made by Artifact Puzzles.

We love Erin Hanson's paintings, so any puzzle featuring one is a must-do for us.

This has about as high a piece count as we like to go these days. With two people, it took about five hours maybe, spread over three days. A good eye for color really helps in the early stages, and we always felt we were making slow but steady progress.

The larger piece count allowed the designers to include big multi-piece "whimsy" flowers, as well as groupings of smaller whimsies around the edge. It's difficult to figure out what's happening with these as you piece the puzzle together, but you appreciate the artistry towards the end.

All in all, one of our favorite puzzles from Artifact.

Looks like the penguins in the wall by the old Flint Mill on the Kelvin Walkway in Glasgow are enjoying a good read in today's sunshine.

Like clockwork, every other editorial comment in Germany is predictably outraged that one can actually notice a transportation workers' strike on a Monday. Their strike is having an impact? The audacity. 🙄 #ThereIsPowerInAUnion

The most calm, almost devotional place in #Lisbon is the beautiful Reservatório da Mãe d'Água das Amoreiras. In this church-like reservoir the main aqueduct from #Sintra ends. It served to provide water for the city until around 1970.

Reduce, reuse, recycle... repair!

This week, we proposed the ‘right to repair’ initiative, which will make it easier and cheaper for consumers to #repair defective goods.

By repairing more goods and using them longer, #EU consumers can not only enjoy sustainable consumption but will also achieve considerable savings!

If you don't know which location is being referred to (because there is more than one place with that name) then you need this map from The Pudding. Enter a name and the map will tell you which town or city of that name is most likely being referred to.

I've been working on this sketch while waiting to hear back about job stuff.

I usually do all my sketching and planning digitally. It's not easy to get professional quality art supplies where I live. Buying online is also not much of an option due to very high shipping rates (I'm on an island). So I tend to save my precious paints and paper for finished pieces!

It all looks like sh*t doesn't, as always.... so cheer us up here are two of artist Helga Stentzel's clothesline animals - wonderfully inventive usage of the material (ha ha pun intended) to hand...
