Two big social science questions that I believe deserve more attention:

1. Is there a general theory of social groups (nations, religious communities, political parties...). Do we need a separate theory for each group, or it is possible to create a general theory?

2. Is the reversal of the trend of declining homophobia possible? Societies are becoming more tolerant towards gay persons. Should we be worried that this is temporary? What can cause such a reversal and what can prevent it?

I’m a first year assistant professor of economics at Brock University in Ontario, Canada.

My research interests are roughly in law and economics, political economy, & public economics.

My current projects centre around police shootings and crime reporting, & the Iraq War and prejudice/hate crimes.
