It is the assessment of key governments that there is a *short* window of opportunity, the next couple of months perhaps, to significantly increase arms supplies to Ukraine to enable it to mount substantial offensive operations before Russia is in a stronger position.

@EHunterChristie as a German I‘d be completely ok with Poland providing the Leopards to Ukraine. Scholz reputation is in tatters anyway 🤷‍♂️ who cares ?

Ukraine already has other German weapon systems. Heavy artillery! Doesn't that look like 80 years ago? Not less than tanks. And it's near Russia!
Scholz isn't afraid about "the world" viewing anything. He's afraid of Russia being beaten, now, in 2023, in the real world.

The wording matters. *Near* the borders. Not over the borders, but near them. Nobody is allowed to put weapons close to Russia! It also implies it is morally shocking to fight back. Against an invasion. Because you need to get close to Russia to do that, see?

And on that count, too, he is isolated.

And this is why Berlin tried to create a linkage between supplying Leopards and supplying U.S. Abrams. It was because the latter idea is deeply impractical. The goal was to generate a pretext for doing nothing. It was calculated and completely dishonourable.

The priority now must be three-fold:
1: everybody else sends everything they can, including Leopards, don't wait
2: continue to pressure Scholz & SPD crazies. Their nonsense must stop
3: start cancelling negotiations for future contracts to buy German (and Swiss) military goods

New policy: I block pro-SPD trolls who waste time with long exchanges on why another Ally hasn't done something, fear of nukes, and other pretexts from spring 2022. I'm not doing a groundhog year. Please do the same. Block the time-wasters.
