This Snowy egret was perfectly framed by Spanish Moss hanging over the boat canal to Newnans Lake, known for its birds and giant alligators. Last Halloween We stopped here to photograph the full moonrise and there were swarms of twilight Darners along this same canal. In mid-November they are long gone.

Today's is one of my favourites from over a decade ago, at a site run by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, and is of a common kingfisher.
We watched this male fishing in the small lake for over an hour. Mostly he preferred diving from posts at the water's edge, but when he flew up into this willow tree, I made sure I got the shot.

Today's shot comes from a magical day in the Scottish #Highlands, a few years ago, when I was photographing red squirrels.
These charming characters are incredibly agile and can jump great distances between trees.
Here I managed to capture one as it appears to be flying down my lens.

@chamberlainnl I got $50 for each visit, I think, on a plastic "clincard" that's reloadable. I get text message notifications each time they load it. I'd ask at the next visit...?
NB if you have an adverse event (I had an upper respiratory infection that's packing a lingering cough) they start calling and texting to check in, so I'm having a "nope, still coughing" text interaction with a staff member every few days.
@chamberlainnl Also my second appointment involved looking up the state of RI website for reporting employee wage theft, after the (same) technician complained that his paycheck was a week late and he was planning to not show up on Monday if this wasn't rectified.
@chamberlainnl The technician had the audacity to be surprised when I promptly gave year-month-day on my last menstrual period (several years in the past) despite some head-scratching over dates of diagnosis for various small things.
@chamberlainnl Given that there's a protocol for revealing your status (and kicking you our of the study) if it affects your medical care, I would imagine you could reasonably yank on that process once the study is concluded, if nothing else.
