@davidaugust I think the argument is usually that something in CA is broken (or maybe in LA specifically) not that it's necessarily a nationwide problem.

@Strandjunker and plot twist: the antisemites are the ones actually trying to stop him.

@mike This is encouraging; maybe the world isn't being taken over by antisemitism after all.

I had this same problem but they would literally track badge-ins and then run a query over the badge-in database to make sure. Manager had no power in this situation.

@MissConstrue I think he's more just saying that there's a lot of BS justifications for wars.

@danluu I remember Credit Suisse had a report about Youtube's expenses like 18 years ago, when I worked there. It was *hilarious*.

@mike I always wonder if real actual economic isolation would work. Wish we (the west) had the backbone to try it. Let it be known that gross misbehavior like this means you become like North Korea; no shots need be fired.

The "AI driven layoffs" thing probably doesn't hold water. I think it's more to do with interest rates. Also there's more jobs every single year since '22! That isn't really consistent with the idea that better AI means less jobs; we know that idea isn't true.

@servelan And they say the right has all the crazy conspiracy theories lol

@Strandjunker I appreciate people that make essential things lol

@randahl I'm surprised by this reaction; you seem like a pretty well-informed guy.

Syrian civil war, Yemen civil war, destabilization in Iraq, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc, etc, etc, etc. They've killed millions of Muslims. It really is forever war with this regime in place.

Is your "this is real" about the "against america" part? Agreed that's weird.

@cafechatnoir @randahl It's in Ukraine and many other places.

If you don't like the sentiment in the OP poster, would you say there is no amount of destabilizing behavior like Iran's over the years that would justify attacks like what we're seeing now?

(To me, the question is more about whether this will just make things worse.)

@joynewacc Why do you suppose Egypt has this locked down so much?

@cy @IndyRichard I guess I should have added "without genocide"? I bet you're a lot of fun at parties.

@VeroniqueB99 That comment from Vance is wrong in several ways, but Aaron's reply is ignorant.

Yes, even if the 30 million people can't afford 250k houses and mortgages, all else being equal if they live somewhere it still drives home prices up. obviously.

The question is why would "all else be equal": isn't the problem why aren't we building more houses?
