HFDL is a good source, readily received with an SDR.
Inmarsat GEO satellite coverage for aero drops out at high latitudes plus you’d need to acquire C-band air-to-ground link for full ADS-C position reports and receive from all four satellites for full coverage.
Iridium AMS(R)S air-to-ground is Ka-band and I believe the service link is very localised to TPN sites.
@christiannolle
However, it’s a nice idea for a bit of entertainment.
@christiannolle
The site mentions ADS-B as the source for position data.
That technology is perhaps not so useful for this application as ground based receivers will not be close enough for accurate, frequent, reception of aircraft transponder broadcasts.
Even ADS-C position reports via Inmarsat Classic Aero/SBB will be unavailable at high latitudes.
HF-DL would be a good source or downlinks from a LEO ADS-B relay constellation (as operated by Aireon’s payload on Iridium-NG).
New project from Direction of Travel. Polar Radar is a airplane radar site that monitors flights across the Arctic Circle and Antarctica. People onboard who get within 100km of the North Pole can generate their own certificates.

In addition to morning having broken, I found my coffee grinder had partially seized. Then, while disassembling for emergency maintenance I literally ‘ground its gears’ necessitating a new grind adjusting shaft (with the grawnched gear on the end). Restored to operation, albeit with very limited adjustment until the replacement part arrives (£2.15 + p&p). Kudos to De Longhi for maintaining parts availability!
RClone may be my new favourite piece of open source software.
It lets you sync and/or mount a variety of cloud file storage providers (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) without having to install their proprietary apps that are increasingly being sagged down with surveillance, pointless redesigns and AI BS.
On macOS, for mounting, you can use MacFUSE, or FUSE-T if you want a userspace FUSE implementation without having to install a kext.

This week, the questioning of the POL legal team has been incisive. One has to wonder whether they were then genuinely disinterested & dispensed cursory advice to colleagues and external contractors or whether they are now wilfully claiming to not recall details around significant events so as not to implicate themselves.
@mike
Thankfully, excepting Ryanair who schedule is woeful, the airlines that serve my nearest airports made the decision to operate Airbus A320 family planes (and Embraer e-Jets).

Most recent requirement (it’s very infrequent that I’ve needed to) was fulfilled without charge by solicitor’s business in the Main St of my home village.
A number of people asked about the mini 10" rack I used in my last video, so here's a quick 3rd channel video where I go through it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8-cdA50bpU (thanks to DeskPi for sending it!)
@geerlingguy
Extremely useful format. I recently did a ‘friends & family’ install using 10” format racking. CPC-Farnell in UK sell rack uprights in various heights & cantilever shelves while a real game-changer was TUK brand keystone panels & connector modules.

‘Freely is available through the next generation of smart TVs now on sale now’.
No mention of apps on existing OTT boxes.
If this is tied to only certain ‘TV’ integrations, it’s a wrong move.
(‘Initially Freely will be available via Vestel smart TVs Powered by TiVo. Vestel was previously announced as a Freely smart TV partner, with Vestel Freely TVs due to launch in the coming weeks.’).
Long career in telecoms, aerospace & IT. Adept at troubleshooting & problem resolution.
Fascinated by the milieu.
