Steve Silberman, author of NeuroTribes, has passed away. Steve’s book was the first thing I read after my diagnosis.

We interacted some online. He was a kind and thoughtful person. He will be missed. 💛

Ah, the academic life. 🙂

"Fabricating data, throwing academic shade at other scientists, publishing a mountain of papers that receive a towering heap of citations: cynics might describe these as steps necessary to achieve academic success.

They are also goals for players of ‘Publish or Perish’ — a new card game that might hit close to home for researchers trying to navigate the often-labyrinthine and cut-throat institution of academia."

Good night my friends. I love you so very much. Thank you for being here with me, but more important, thank you for being YOU.
Each of you is unique, and special, and that is so amazing.
Be safe, be well, and I'll see you tomorrow.

Good night my friends. I love you so very much.
Today's lesson for me was to find the small joys and enjoy them, no matter how small or insignificant to others they may seem.
The world is a frightening place right now, so small joys are more valuable than ever.
Be safe, take care, see you tomorrow

Good night my friends.
I started these posts as a way of dealing with fear and anxiety over those I've lost and not been able to tell them how much I loved them.
I love you.
Please know that.
The world is better for you being here.
Thank you for being here.
See you tomorrow.
