+ Data available at gml.noaa.gov/ccgg/.

Kudos to Mitchell for rejecting the right's propagandistic slogan. All reporters who see themselves as neutral should follow suit.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! Matt Gaetz finally getting the attention for something other than sex trafficking teens

I've been researching how ancient civilizations cleaned their butts after pooping (I'm writing a book!) and y'all, the Ancient Greeks were SUPER punk rock. They used bits of broken ceramic like a scoop (don't worry - the edges were smoothed out) and sometimes THE BITS OF POTTERY WERE INSCRIBED WITH THE NAMES OF THEIR ENEMIES.

They literally wiped their butts with their enemies' names. I am in awe.

Live coverage of Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s struggle to clinch the House speakership has translated into bigger-than-usual ratings for C-SPAN and cable news. nyti.ms/3GgaDc0

We'll beat the 9 ballots for Speaker in the 1923 Congress and tie the 10 they required in 1833 in the next round.

If they don't do it on that round, then next up would be 11 ballots in 1839.

The world's oldest tree is a Great Basin bristlecone pine, growing in the Inyo National Forest in California. It is 4854 years old.

This tree germinated while the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt was flourishing, and predates most of written human history. It's older than the Olmec civilisation, older than the first Chinese writing, older than Stonehenge. By the time Sappho was writing her poems, it was already ancient.
