Today in #history: In 1978, The Gang of 19 - a group of #disability rights advocates - threw themselves in front of public busses in Denver and blocked a major intersection until representatives of the transportation department were willing to discuss the absence of wheelchair #accessible busses. This #protest is considered one of the foundational events that spurred the disability rights movement that ultimately led to the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Last week, I went to Washington DC for a family vacation. A nice night out with my wife was ruined when an #Uber driver refused my seeing eye dog. We had to argue with the driver, get out, wait ten minutes for another ride, file a report, and speak with a case agent. In the end, Uber only refunded my ride and closed the case without telling me the outcome of my complaint. I don't use #FedEx due to it being a fascist government supporter but sometimes I have no choice but get stuff delivered from where the seller ships through them.

After previous attempts to get #ADA delivery instructions applies, and ignored, we have permanent ADA instructions on our address with FedEx that our attorney negotiated with them.

We just got another delivery from FedEx, the first one in a while, and they didn't respect the ADA negotiated pre-lawsuit settlement.

Time to contact the attorney.

Do you go to farmers markets? Do you NOT go because they almost never have accessible porta potties? I've noticed this #ableism trend in #KingCounty & #SnohomishCounty in #WashingtonState / #Seattle & I gotta say, it surprises me.

I feel like the #ADA should do a check on all markets around here.

It's not like these are random organizers...
