GitHubSkeena Indigenous was designed with
Paul_Hanslow, based on our earlier work from 2018 and later Calibri-replacement candidate. The design was thoroughly reviewed and revised to give priority to the needs of indigenous languages.
The latest build of the Skeena Indigenous fonts are available from the GitHub repo:

Along with the fonts, source, and build tools, the repo provides extensive documentation about the decision making in the type design and font making, including discussion of unique features of indigenous language texts and how these are addressed.

The Ondsel Onwards Fund.
Ondsel was a great project which brought huge benefits and development into the wider FreeCAD project. One of the main projects at Ondsel was the creation of Ondsel Lens, a cloud-based platform for sharing and collaborating with CAD files. With the closing of Ondsel there has been some interest in these server-side functionalities of Ondsel being made available to the wider community.

I’m in the process of rewriting our sites that use Site.js¹, which has been deprecated for some time now, in Kitten².
In any of your sites use Site.js, I’d highly recommend doing the same thing. This is also a heads up for anyone who uses Site.js to install and run their own Owncast server³.
Site.js will be retired and the web site will start forwarding to Kitten’s at the end of April, 2025.
In May, automatic TLS certificate renewals for existing sites will start to fail.
(Kitten is the spritual successor to Site.js. Or think of Site.js as my first attempt at a Small Web server. I learned a lot while making it and a lot of the components I built for Site.js – like Auto Encrypt⁴, etc. – live on in Kitten.)

Tiro Malayalam is inspired by the proportions and features of 19th Century metal types, including a slight slanting of vertical strokes that enliven text.

Just discovered my old middle and #highschool #AV clubs have really grown. When I was in highschool they did a weekly school wide #announcement style show. Now it looks like they produce #shortfilms, and #podcasts, and #news on #YouTube. Really warms my heart to see these little #Appalachian #kids learning and expressing themselves.
