The tiny theater was about 1/3 full and during the 2h that we were there the CO2 never went above 800ppm.
I think this might be because they have a very old-fashioned ventilation system that is just continuously on full blast (two years ago they still had the info about their ventilation system on their website... but that apparently got removed.)

Letzte Woche einen #Aranet4 frust-geshoppt. So aus Neugierde, wie häufig ich zu Hause lüften sollte und wie sich die Werte über Nacht so verändern. Heute aus Neugierde in den Zug mitgenommen.
Sweet. In an old crowded conference room meeting with 100 people and I’m the only one masked. #AraNet4 readings don’t look good either. And on the 5th anniversary of the pandemic.
Y'a des grosses promos sur les capteurs de CO2 et autres #Aranet, si vous envisagiez de vous en procurer un c'est peut-être le moment : https://aranet.com/en/home/products
This doesn't look good. I mean, a reduction in atmospheric CO2 might be nice (perhaps not this much of a reduction), but my device displaying 255 ppm CO2 immediately after calibration probably just means that it's faulty.
After I took it indoors the display rise above 300 for a few minutes and then it started displaying error 0x8002.
Anyone out there seen this fault before?

There was a parent teacher conference today for the parents of all the 7th graders. The room had been occupied by the parents of all the fifth graders for about 60minutes before that.

Golem.de@kdnyhan This is fantastic!!!!
I also hope with more people having access to CO2 monitors, maybe more people can provide data for this crowdsourced map of CO2 readings:

Yeah, a new #Aranet4 high score of 6169!
Two people and two dogs go for a drive with the air on recycle. Man that is absolutely terrifying. Don’t take off your fucking mask in a taxi or Uber.
Aranet4 Home CO2 monitors that lots of people use to gauge indoor air quality as a proxy to determine risk of respiratory virus infection are on sale right now. The price is as low as I’ve seen.
If you buy direct from their site it’s $149US through Dec 20th.
There are other IAQ monitors that are cheaper and are just as accurate, but none of them have the battery life and the same ease of use as the Aranet4.
As a first step, I've installed Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 4 (with 4GB RAM and a PoE HAT) and I'm working my way through the Home Assistant concepts and terminology and the initial set-up.
So far so good. The first (pleasant) surprise was that the Bluetooth transceiver on the RPi4 was able to auto-detect the Aranet4 CO2 sensor, despite them not being especially close to each other.
Courtesy of my #Aranet4 I got a shocking demonstration of how much carbon dioxide is generated by our old gas oven last week when I roasted a turkey for 6 hours in our somewhat drafty house.
My elderly mother in law was coming over for Thanksgiving dinner and I wanted to make sure we had the house well ventilated. To my surprise my CO2 readings were well above 1000 everywhere in the house. It was 400-600 ppm higher than normal and took 30 minutes of opening every window and turning our window fans on high to get it back down to an acceptable level.
Once I turned the oven off, CO2 levels inside the house remained below 600 even though we only had a handful of windows cracked slightly open and it wasn’t windy out.
I’d replace the stove with an electric one, but we rent so we’re stuck with what we have. We mostly use a small electric oven so the awful gas oven isn’t a huge concern.
I reaaly like my Aranet4 CO2 monitor, and it’s currently on sale with a big discount! Maybe a holiday gift for yourself or others.
Yay! New high score of 4526! For two people eating lunch in a car it only took 20 minutes.
We're using these metrics with an #Aranet4 :
Virus Safety Goal: under 600 ppm
15% cognitive impairment: over 1100ppm
50% cognitive impairment: over 1400ppm
Woohoo!! I'm so excited to open up the crowdsourced #IndoorCO2 map and see new data points in North America from someone other than me!

If you have a #CO2Monitor like the #Aranet #Aranet4 or #Airvalent, you can help collect data. (From experience I know that if your phone is an Android, you need at least Android 11.)

@susankayequinn I am on the southern coast of Spain, just west of the town of Salobreña, the Mediterranean Sea less than 500m from me, and this is my #Aranet4 reading right now: 463ppm outside my window (there is nothing but open air between my window and the sea). For the past 7 days I have been here, it did record a low of 432ppm once.
Today, I started getting frequent Bluetooth connection requests on my Mac from my Aranet4. It's paired with my iPhone (or should be), and my Mac isn’t set to be discoverable, yet these requests keep interrupting my workflow and are driving me nuts. Anyone else experienced this? I'm running macOS Sonoma (14.7.1) and the Aranet is on the latest firmware.
