What free (preferably #FOSS) software I could use to easily create 3D models I could then later use for #3Dprinting? I know #Blender's an option, but prolly too much for a newbie. I saw a tutorial on #Autodesk Fusion 360 that seems decent (easy to use, but not too limiting), but that's #Windows and #macOS only.

I’m wondering if there is any way in #Autodesk #Fusion360 to take some kind of file that lists geometry and import it as a model.

For instance - a file that lists the positions and sizes of elements in a Yagi antenna.

Sort of like this:

I switched from #Ubuntu to #Linux mint yesterday. I like the interface much better than ubuntus gnome shell who looks like mac desktop but it is not.

I even managed to install #Autodesk #maya 2024 and to mount #Synology drives. I didn't practice linux since 6-7 years.

It is damned fast!

I keep windows to use #SketchUp but the more I use win the more I hate it. It is a dinosaur

@barrysampson given the #licensing costs for #ToonBoom, it's good to see their #TechSupport actually invested time and effort.

Most "Professional Software" on #Linux is sometimes really nit easy to procure:

#Autodesk literally won't even offer me a #license for #Maya unless I sent them a Serial # of an eligible Workstation (i.e. #HP #Z600 - spec'd to compatibility from the factory) existing & valid #RHEL subscription and would only support that combo with the license...

So it's no wounder those that can't afford it stick to #blender & #Moho like @fuchsiii ...
