Spent several years in #Bangkok as an engineering consultant on a couple of major infrastructure projects. This is absolutely devastating, but unfortunately I am not at all surprised by the amount of damage from a relatively mild quake.

This building is constructed by China Railway No 10 Engineering Group. It raises suspicion that if it's a typical Chinese-style “Tofu building” and maybe related with corruption of Thai government.

More than a thousand people have died as a result of the earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday and was also felt in neighboring Thailand.

In Myanmar, 1,002 people have died, 2,376 have been injured, and 30 are reported missing, according to MRTV.

In Thailand's capital, the death toll at the construction site of a 30-story building has risen to nine.
