We are back in The Hague from Spain and Portugal. This is a photo of the gate you enter through when you enter The Hague via the main road. Iets onder het midden bevindt zich de horizon. Daarboven is de werkelijkheid, daaronder spiegelt deze in een natte, zwarte afdekplaat van eeen laag stenen muurtje, bijna over de hele onderkant. Van rechtsonder in de hoek neer de horizon een schuine reiling van een verdiepte snelweg. Boven de horizon, links, een stuk met hoge gebouwen, tot aan de bovenkant van de foto, dan naar rechts een grote halfronde poort in een laag kantoorgebouw met lichtgroen en wit betegeld, waar de weg onderdoor loopt. Boven deze poort en en doorheen zie je de grijze wolkenlucht, het heeft net geregend. Naast die poort naar rechts een groot breed naar links overhellend kantoorgebouw van glas. Daarin zie je de al deels blauwe lucht gespiegeld. Je ziet de hele bovenkant weerspiegeld is het onderste gedeelte, waardoor je een cirkel ziet bij de poort.

One of the interesting things about Parramatta is you can randomly find some of the oldest European colonial buildings in Australia standing alongside some of the newest. A good example is Brislington House, built in 1821, which stands on a street corner in the middle of Parra's legal precinct.

A closer look at the Marsden St frontage. Brislington is a heritage-listed former residence, inn, doctor's surgery, nurses' home and now museum. It was built between 1819 and 1821 by John Hodge.

This Is My Glasgow

Main door to the former Printing Works on Darnley Street in Pollokshields, Glasgow. Designed by D.B. Dobson and built in 1902, the snake-headed hinges at the bottom of the door are a particularly nice touch.

'In laboratory experiments, the scientists found that the cooling rate of their elephant skin-inspired mycelium tile was 25 per cent better than a fully flat mycelium tile, and the heating rate was 2 per cent lower.

They also found that the elephant skin-inspired tile’s cooling effect improved a further 70 per cent in simulated rain conditions, making it suitable for tropical climates.'
