Well looks like the #FAA is planning on killing off Flight Service Stations (FSS) and their associated Remote Communication Outlets (RCO).

Truthfully I am not shocked. I have not used FSS as a private #pilot for… a long time.

This hour's random desktop background on my #MacbookPro brings back fun memories.

It shows Janet, a family friend, trying to coach her young granddaughter how to fly a #Cessna 172 on an older version of my #XPlane #flightsim. As you can see, the flight did not end well.

This was probably 15 years ago, judging by the old landline phone. The young pilot is probably married with children by now. No idea if she ever made it to the left seat of a commercial airliner.

Went #flying so far 2x this year. Not bad for being 4 days in. Yesterday was a ferry moving a #Cessna 172B from one home to another so it could have the annual done. Then today went around the patch with a club member who had not flown for 4 months and wanted CFI with to bust the rust off. (Pics from 1st flight)

UW #Flying Club just updated one of our #Cessna 172S with a new Garmin 215 NAV/COMM radio. Really like the looks of it and I am looking forward to using it more. They also added an Outside Air Temp probe and the computers to give True Airspeed and other info. Love it that is shows Density Altitude on the ground.

Is there a really accurate #Cessna 172 for Microsoft Flight Sim 2020? The default ones really are not the best and need some serious upgrades.
