The values are all relative... so the highest value is always 100... which means if a new higher amount of SARS-CoV-2 in the wastewater is detected then that is the new 100 and the curve is recalibrated.
If this Winter's wave is anything like the wave in the Winter 2023/24, then I think we might have a pattern emerging.
Of course, there are other cities (Munich!) whose graph looks very different.

Inviting the #Fediverse to join another #Jabber / #XMPP channel I co-moderate - the Personal Protective Equipment channel. #PPE
Protect yourself from hazardous substances, #pollution, diseases ( #CovidIsNotOver !), #surveillance, police oppression, and other threats. Or maybe just look cool and cyberpunk.
Discuss cloth #masks, surgical masks, filtering facepiece (FFP) #respirators, reusable #elastomeric respirators (half-face or full-face), source control, powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs), and more!
Discussion of #EyeProtection, #HearingProtection, #HeadProtection and similar also welcome!
You can join without a client or an account. Just visit chat.queer-spark.org/#/guest?join=ppe@conference.queer-spark.org
But for the best experience, I recommend using a proper client. The easiest way is to install Quicksy or Prāv, if you don’t mind using your phone number.
Otherwise, install one or more of the following, and use them to register an account on conversations.im (see providers.xmpp.net or compliance.conversations.im/old for more server recommendations) -
Monocles Chat, Cheogram, or Conversations on modern Android devices. (They’re paid on app stores, free of cost on F-Droid)
Yaxim or Bruno on old/low-end Android devices
Monal or Siskin on iOS
Gajim on Linux, Windows, and Mac
Monal on Mac
Movim or ConverseJS in the browser
Poezio or Profanity in the terminal
Convo on KaiOS/JioPhone
…once you’re set up, open this link to join the channel - invite.joinjabber.org/#ppe@conference.queer-spark.org?join

Stumbled upon an antifa protest (Wir sind antifa) at Friedrichstraße Bhf in Berlin. There was a high concentration of face masking.
What bugs me is that it is likely for the wrong reasons... i.e. (almost) no one masks for mutual protection against highly transmissible airborne viruses.
High indoor CO₂ levels help COVID-19 survive longer in the air, raising transmission risk.

Common Misconceptions about COVID Hold Strong as New Variant Spreads
Media has the public talking about the "razor blade" COVID variant, but years of inaccurate public health messaging have taken their toll

The GauntletResearchers found that approximately 20 percent of people who had COVID-19 still experienced at least one persistent symptom three years after falling ill.
The most common symptoms three years after infection were fatigue, sleep problems, and shortness of breath. Many people also continued to have a reduced sense of smell or taste, and some experienced anxiety. A significant proportion also showed measurable reductions in lung function, especially in the body's ability to absorb oxygen from the air. Some also had reduced breathing capacity, measured by how much air they could exhale in one second.
The study shows that long-term issues after COVID-19 can persist for several years. These include not only symptoms that are noticeable in daily life, such as fatigue or sleep disturbances, but also less visible effects like impaired lung function. This highlights that long COVID is a real and long-lasting condition that can affect both physical and mental health over an extended period.
Day 2 of forest fire smoke here in MTL. It's been a crappy spring/summer so far with almost constant rain and now sunny but toxic air.
Climate change is ruining summer. The pandemic is ruining winter.

From Julia Doubleday, The Gauntlet:
"Each time a new wave crops up, the media scrambles to let the public know that COVID is spreading “again” (although of course, a new wave has arrived because the virus has been spreading continuously since 2019). But each time, it fails to inform the public that nearly half of COVID cases are asymptomatic, that COVID looks different in different patients, that vaccines do not prevent infections, that rapid tests have high false negative rates, and that COVID is fully airborne."

The GauntletI had an ultrasound procedure done today, where I had to retain water for the first part, and then go pee before the second part. So I was forced to use the bathroom attached to the ultrasound room.
I hadn't used any form of public rest room since before the Covid pandemic began. I'm not thrilled about a small room with a lot of dividers causing air to stagnate and collect in the only spaces that I can move through, plus the humidity caused by forceful public toilet flushing, handwashing, and air hand dryers helping to hold stuff in the air. It was bad enough before the pandemic, when the women's rest rooms' air was just filled with nausea-inducing perfumes.
I'm crossing my fingers that my FloMask kept me safe in the waiting room, exam room, and rest room. Of course I was the only one masked, surrounded by people coughing and clearing their throats repeatedly, but I probably don't even have to mention that any more. Haven't the scary news reports lately about the new "razor-blade-throat variant" caused any alarm? No? No.
