On a related note, families on the island of #Crete are much smaller today than in the past. A fact that is commonly attributed to (significantly) changed eating habits.

A Local Character in a Cretan Village

Many years ago, in 2002, I visited Crete for a sun holiday. It was the first sun holiday I’d ever been on, so quite a shock for this young man from Cork.

Dans les grottes de Crète, dans la région de Lassithi, on peut croiser Hoplopholcus minotaurinus, une espèce d'araignée de la famille des Pholcidae. Contrairement au minotaure mythologique, cette araignée "minotaurine" est bien réelle. Mais pas de panique, son corps mesure un demi-centimètre et elle est inoffensive.
