At #EGU23 this year we were joined by two excellent Artists in Residence; Heike Jane Zimmermann and Maria Gabriela Tejada Toapanta! During the meeting EGU Communications Assistant Fabio Crameri spoke to Gabriela about her experiences, and getting to work with Jane and the scientists at the meeting!

When a photo tells a story, not by what you see, but by what is missing. This week's #imaggeoOnMondays didn't quite make the top 10 of the #EGU23 Photo Competition, but Petronela Ševčíková's image still tells a dramatic story of #glacier loss.

In the run up to the #EGU23 Photo Competition we get so many great submissions, we always feel sad that we can't feature more than the top 10; like this gorgeous image of Landmannalaugar in #Iceland, by Glenn Strypsteen! #imaggeoOnMondays

Now more than ever, water resources are in the spotlight because of geopolitics and #climate change. During this @EuroGeosciences #EGU23 press conference, we hear from researchers about a metalliferous Cretaceous formation that pollutes pristine #Arctic waters, the ingenious use of isotopic fingerprinting in Italy to unmask environmental polluters, and how the finance sector has a crucial role to play in addressing the global water crisis.
Here's a #Throwback at the #EGU23 Conference and some of the projects that we presented there. Thank you @EuroGeosciences!
Every year thousands of researchers work for days to try & create the best poster presentation for #EGU23 - so what do they do well & can we do better? Professional graphic designer & geoscientist Fabio Crameri shares his thoughts on the #EGUblogs!

sorry for the not so great audio quality
By the way, I’ve just returned by train on Friday night from the annual European Geosciences Union conference #EGU23 in Vienna, with 13,000 participants. As always in the big climate science events, a large and exciting part of the presentations & discussions was on paleoclimate.
Ok, this is it: #egu23 is over already! Pfiu, this went by rapidly and was, once again, intense!
My main takeaway from discussions is that quite a lot of #postdocs now work in one place but live in another. #WorkFromHome seems to be more broadly accepted than in pre-Covid times. Keep that in mind when negotiating your next postdoc position
When the party band plays Child In Time, the party is going in a weird direction #EGU23
Ocean remote sensing session done! #EGU23 @EuroGeosciences. Every year I'm so pleased to get to see all these talks and posters, thanks all who attended!
We had a solicited talk, Lee-Lueng Fu presented the first steps of the DWOT satellite. Really impressive images! Looking forward to the data release!
