The clean energy think-tank #PembinaInstitute, meanwhile, wrote that its research and analysis had been identifying "significant gaps" between the #EmissionsReduction promises the Pathways Alliance first made in 2021 and their actions to deliver those promises. (2/3)

“We know that #Canada’s federal and provincial #governments continue to stumble on the #ClimateFile. Few countries are on track to meet the #EmissionsReduction commitments made in the #ParisAgreement, but Canada is the worst-performing among the #G7.

@TomRaftery it’s good to be confident, and as you focus on #EmissionsReduction successes #ClimateConfident is a great name

Tom Raftery

I think it’s time for a brand refresh for my #Climate 21 podcast.
The name was initially an internal SAP project name when I was still working for SAP. Now the name makes less sense, and I feel is holding the podcast back.

After thinking about it, and mulling the podcast’s mission statement - highlighting successful #EmissionsReduction stories and strategies, to educate and inspire others to action, I’ve decided that the name Climate Confident is better suited to the podcast.
What do you think?

Producing fertilizer without carbon emissions
sciencedaily.com/releases/2022

Researchers have shown how nitrogen fertilizer could be produced more sustainably. This is necessary not only to protect the climate, but also to reduce dependence on imported natural gas and to increase food security.
3 carbon neutral ways to produce hydrogen for fertiliser:
* Electrolysis of water via renewables
* Fossil Gas with Carbon capture and Storage
* Biomass capture and use

Each has its own issues.

Australia could be a leader in using renwables in northern Australia for electrolyisis of water to produce hydrogen rather than use fossil gas in production of fertiliser.
