We're excited to introduce emoji reactions in the upcoming #BotKit 0.2.0 release!

With the new Message.react() method, your bot can now react to messages using standard Unicode #emojis:

await message.react(emoji``);

#Custom_emoji support is also included, allowing your bot to react with server-specific emojis:

Reactions can be removed using the AuthorizedReaction.unreact() method:

Personas con problemas de visión del fediverso, yo os invoco. ¿Qué os parece el uso de los emojis formados por signos de puntuación? Me refiero a cosas tipo :) o >_<

¿Los lectores de pantalla «traducen» bien el significado? ¿Os resulta más cómodo el uso de estos o de las típicas caritas ?

Porque magino que cosas más elaboradas, como ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶ os pareceran un galimatías, claro.

Lo pregunto por saber qué os resulta más accesible y fácil de interpretar, y así hacer un Mastodon un poco mejor para todes.

Just installed Chocolatey, so we could use it to install the Twemoji font, which received an update to unicode 15.1 back in October 2024.

Our priorities on operating systems are a mixture of practical and highly-specific. The OS must:

Receive security updates.
Have software that can edit its look and functionality.
Allow us to disable and tinker with its policies and settings.
Remember windows positions across 2 monitors when the monitors turn off/on or we switch inputs on any monitor.
Have a functional emoji picker.

Windows 10 Pro ticked some of these boxes, but not all of them. It's about to lose security updates later this year, refused to remember window positions, and had an emoji picker that limited which emojis it would display. We had to use PersistentWindows to restore application windows to the correct monitor, size, and position.

Windows 11 Pro meets most of these criteria to varying degrees. It's a bit trickier to edit its functionality versus Windows 10, but still doable with the right software, but it does remember window positions and sizes correctly... so far at least.

The emoji picker for Windows 11 is not a straightforward improvement over Windows 10. It does show newer emojis that the emoji picker in 10 refused to display, even with an updated emoji font installed, but it's less user friendly. We're going to install a custom emoji font to see whether the picker actively hides country flags.

Esto no es exclusivo de una app, sino que me sucede en al menos 5 ( #tuba, #MullvadBrowser, #Firefox, #Whalebird ...)

Is there an easy way to know what the heck all those tiny nearly invisible cryptic #emojis are supposed to be? I mean in the middle of a post or someone's name- without having to try to copy them/do a search? +flags- am I just supposed to know all the flags in the world? lol (btw desktop, no phone)
