Many nations before have experienced the same deflation of importance and influence. England, France, Spain, Portugal, China, and so on. And in each circumstance where a new global reserve currency enters the stage, there’s a greater chance of a transition through war, rather than a peaceful transition.
This leads to the present day and US President Donald Trump, who has stated that he does not like trade deficits.

Assuming that the stupidity-induced collapse of the USA continues on this trajectory, what should the #EuropeanUnion do to prepare if the #Euro suddenly becomes the world's primary reserve currency? And what are likely to be the effects on this union of ours?

But there are also "#ColdWallets" aka. "#PaperWallets" to mitigate some risks.
I just see #Monero as a better alternstive to an #AMEX, #VISA, #MasterCard or #PayPal!
And unlike Other #Cryptocurrencies it's free of #SmartContracts and #NFTs so not on the perpetual tire fire that is @web3isgreat ...
Not gonna claim it's better than #Euro banknotes, but unless you have a bank account in #SEPA where you can use #wero, it's the fastest way to do #CashlessPayments remotely/online...
@kkarhan@infosec.spaceAnd no, #Trump|s #regime will #speedrun the #dedollarization of #WorldTrade in favour of the #Euro, because noone wants to deal with a regime that essentially devalued the #USD by 5,6% in the last 3 months, 2,4% in the last month alone compared to the #EUR!
It'll make the #USA more irrelevant and hopefully that'll be the end of it, with it ceasing to exist and it's remains being absorbed by #Mexico and #Canada along the former #SlaveryBelt!
Let's hope that'll end as peacefully as it can be, but I'd rather expect #USpol to crack the whip harder, do #Slavery 2.0 with #ForProfitPrisons and introducing #Neofeudalism amidst their new #ConcentrationCamps!

Nebenbei wäre es schlecht für die #digitaleSouveränität der #EU, weil kaum eine bargeldlose Zahlung ohne #US-Firmen auskommt.
