THAT would be fabulous! I await the day. I've been thro hard labour this past year or two, seeking a wiki hosting platform that means I don't have to go up a learning curve myself as an admin - life's too short

The localhost #FederatedWiki server tells you if the page already exists. In case of a collision, the client decides what changes need to be made to the history (keyword: journal) to bring the page to the desired state. The history is kept so that earlier versions can be restored (keyword: replay).

have #MillerColumns in my vocabulary. Very useful. I used to love the #SmallTalk browser (until I tried larger projects), hadn't connected it. to the #MacOs #Finder (which I find baffling TBH) nor #FederatedWiki (which is not unexpected, in hindsight, given @k9ox background in Smalltalk).

thanks for your tacit tip on #obsidian. i’ve been using joplin for some years for markdown notes and web clipping, but it looks like Obsidian will do the job MUCH better. and in some way, will complement #federatedWiki, which is absolutely a favourite medium.

In my travels down the digital garden rabbit hole I also came across #federatedwiki and found that fascinating.

There's been so many interesting ideas and things to read, I really need a digital garden to start working through and making sense of them all!

Hosting #federatedWiki . . are there fedwiki farms out there? I mean, formal fee-for-service hosting services, that have specialist fedwiki capability, and commitment to making the genre more widely used thro support, training, documentation, etc?

Or does the culture of self-hosting and hacker huddles prevail?

#FederatedWiki was invented by Ward in 2011, enabling parallel editing in a community. Renaming a "wiki page"​ as a "card"​ may make it more intelligible to novices (even those who don't remember #hypercard).
