Great guesses here! You all made me look again. I’m also seeing a giant God head in mountains with homes coming up too far and what looks like an unexploded rocket coming out of the head? And a lobster! #Flagstaff #Arizona #ironwork #battle #rusted #epic #DiabloBurger
On a Monday, I needed to do something a little more relaxing than chores and catching up on the news. Another find from my treasure hoard of images captured in Flagstaff last summer. The quest or battles of this decorative iron "drawing" seem to have different interpretations depending on what is going on in your world when you see it. My first thoughts went to Day of the Dead skeletons trying to outrun attacks. But then I wonder if the helmets and surreal images show Nazi villains. Your guess?

It's still Sunday here! So here is a #SilentSunday photo to share, another beautiful and quiet moment early morning in Flagstaff Arizona. Joe Sorren mural “The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux.” 2000 at the patio of Diablo Burger in downtown Flagstaff Arizona. Early morning quiet view with silence and empty seating accessory to a powerful landscape scene of a pond and lush foliage being enjoyed by the park visitors, surreal setting. #Flagstaff #Mural #Arizona #Sorren #Surreal #MyPhoto
Finally a photo shared on the right day, #SilentSunday #MyPhoto #Flagstaff #Arizona
Sweet Shop Sweet Spot - Candy, sweets, gelato and gifts in an old downtown Flagstaff shop with the old limestone and red brick exterior. The windows are fogged with moisture and it was going to soon rain again. Alley side view shows an old sign painted and fading off the bricks, for a mattress sold long ago.
Dedicated to my friend @SrRochardBunson a scoundrel and zine-lover if I ever saw one. Like a few other images I've shared over the last three months, this one from my "real camera" was also seen in an alley in downtown Flagstaff Arizona on a dreary morning early. I wondered what the metal plate was originally bolted to the exterior wall to cover. Perhaps a coal shute opening. It was fun to read the many stickers and somehow they surrounded but did not cover the graffiti, maybe one with some sort of meaning. In any case, a found abstract image.

No idea what happened to a post I had this morning, but in recognition of St. Patrick's Day, I have a sign from an Irish pub @ grill to share, Collins. I didn't get to go there and it was good to know that sometime when I get up there next to Flagstaff, I will try it out. I dearly miss "my" Rúla Búla Irish restaurant I went to for over 20 years, Tempe Arizona. It closed and I'll never see the likes of it again. Every St. Patrick's Day, I and my brothers and sisters would each get our own limerick written for us by my full Irish grandfather. It was very special and I still have some saved to this day! Anyway, perhaps my post will wink at any who know this place up North. #IrishPub #Flagstaff #Arizona #RulaBula #Tempe
This is a Sunday greeting. I hope you have a bright, sunny day today. Or maybe it will be overcast and a bit gray. I saw this sun medallion on a patched exterior wall in a Flagstaff alley this last summer.
I'm unsure if this will show up very well in the browser. The size is much larger than I like to share, but the smaller size makes it look like there is no focus. And, as usual, I have a nice bright Mac display 27" with great contrast, so for me, it's not too dark. Hmmm, but maybe for you? I'm interested in your comments, but please do mention what browser and computer/mobile device you are seeing this with. Thanks!

#KleeBenally, Navajo advocate for #IndigenousPeople and #environmental causes, dies in Phoenix
Klee Benally was among the most vocal opponents of snowmaking at #ArizonaSnowbowl ski resort in #Flagstaff.
AP, January 1, 2024
PHOENIX — "Klee Benally, a Navajo man who advocated on behalf of Indigenous people and environmental causes, has died, his sister said. He was 48 years old.
"Benally died Saturday at a Phoenix hospital, Jeneda Benally said. His cause of death was not disclosed.
"Klee Benally was among the most vocal opponents of snowmaking at Arizona Snowbowl ski resort in Flagstaff. At least 13 tribes consider the mountain on public land to be sacred.
"He protested #PoliceViolence and #RacialProfiling and was among activists who gathered outside metro Phoenix’s NFL stadium in 2014 to denounce the offensive team name previously used by the franchise from Washington, D.C.
"Benally advocated for the cleanup of abandoned #mines, where #uranium ore was extracted from the Navajo Nation over decades to support U.S. #nuclear activities during the #ColdWar.
"He also spoke out against an ordinance that, in a bid to address the problem of #homelessness, had banned camping on public property in Flagstaff.
"'There is no compassionate way to enforce the #AntiCamping ordinance,' Benally said in 2018 when officials declined to alter the 2005 ordinance. 'Life is already hard enough for our unsheltered relatives on the streets.'
"Benally was also a guitarist, and played with his sister and brother in the Native American punk rock band #Blackfire."

Power Is NOT - A mural captioned with a quote from Winona LaDuke. Dark morning before rainfall. Native American image of a repeated woman doing something ritual, perhaps a feather cleansing. Far right lower mural is disjointed and seems out of place.

#Flagstaff #Arizona is the kind of place that can go from 80 F (26.7 C) to snow in less than two weeks. It was 80 F on October 7 and snowed on October 18. Sure, it was a coldfront, but it still happened, and this kind of "transition" happens frequently here.
Most of my life has been around weird #weather patterns like this, and ~20 years here, and I'll never get used to it. It's like Flagstaff says, "Oh you wanted autumn? Cute idea, maybe we'll try it someday." I miss having 4-6 weeks of the high is around 50-60 F (10 - 15.6 C) so you have time post- fans and air conditioners before you need a snow shovel.
Precisely Fitting - An old hotel sign meant to be seen from miles away, iconic Hotel Monte Vista sign in the center of Flagstaff Arizona. #Flagstaff #FlagstaffAZ #Sign
Ta-da it's #FensterFreitag again! And what a surprise, another image from Flagstaff Arizona. I love poking around a downtown area before folks are moving around. #WindowFriday #Flagstaff
Out In and Out In Again - Restaurant and bar window early morning. Looking in at the stemware and other things on display then seeing the tree and building reflections across the street and another look out to see the chairs and window frame set into iconic redstone facade.

"We don't know when the contamination is going to reach us, it's just a matter of time"

FLAGSTAFF, #Arizona -- "Jones and Clayson Benally, #Dine', joined walkers as they began their journey from #Flagstaff City Hall to Havasupai's Sacred Red Butte on Wednesday, on the #SacredLands #PrayerWalk for a Nuclear Free World.
Jun San Yasuda, a Nipponzan Myohoji walker for peace, and additional Buddhist monks and nuns are walking over 66 miles from Flagstaff to Sacred Red Butte on Havasupai homelands in solidarity with the fight to stop the Pinyon Plain uranium mine. They plan to reach the sacred butte on Sunday."

bsnorrell.blogspot.comJust in case your Monday caffeine has worn off this afternoon, had a vivid photo I shot in that same alley as all the others recently, Flagstaff Arizona. I really like the composition made by the rectangles of electrical boxes and the attempts at covering graffiti with neutral paint. #Red #Flagstaff #FlagstaffAZ BTW, it is 113º today in Phoenix. So very tired of this "summer" that doesn't end already.
I really hoped today was Friday because I am not ready for the weekend. So my #FensterFreitag photo is late but hopefully fun to see. Another shot from my walk down an alley in Flagstaff Arizona in June. #WindowFriday #Flagstaff #Flagstaff
Wouldn’t this be fun to be a framed print on the wall? If anyone living is old enough to remember using a coal chute, a framed print would be startling. #Flagstaff #FlagstaffAZ
A Sunday share that actually could be for #SilentSunday or maybe it is just another of my fun alley shots from Flagstaff. I call it Stapled. Hard to imagine how many flyers and how many years this wood pole was used to post notices before now. I wonder if anyone could actually still get staples to dig in and hold. #Flagstaff
Okay, does anyone in want to adopt the absolute sweetest black cat in the world? I'm obsessed with her. The first time I saw her, she ran up to me and wanted skritches.
She hated the cat carrier yesterday, but the second she was out she was looking for affection.
She can't be more than six months old.
We're in #Phoenix, but I'd be willing to take her to #Tucson or #Flagstaff. #CatsOfMastodon
So if you know me at all well and you notice I didn't post, it happens that way once in a while. But I could not forget #FensterFreitag! AKS #WindowFriday Another image from Flagstaff AZ, this one is a whole storefront display of collectibles, mostly from the 60's through the 90's. If they were older than the 60's this would be an antique store. #FlagstaffAZ #Flagstaff
