I noticed that when I link or import a file there is on action to "promote to layer" and an action to "demote to group".

Why would I want to do one of the other?

I dont know what is the difference between group and layer.

One of the main limitations in compatibility for @libreoffice for #linux is the lack of the #fonts used in MS Office for windows. If you open a document created with MS Office that contains fonts you don't have (font name in italic), go to https://www.freefonts.io/ download #TrueType font and install it in Linux via Font Manager. It solved a few problems for me! #floss

steps using #friction, a 2d animation package and #inkscape.
The bike was restructured from an #openclipart #graphic.

1) use inkscape to separated the wheels from the frame, putting each is a .svg file by themselves.
2) linked each file into friction; scale and position as needed.
3) parented the wheels to the frame
4) animated the rotate attritube with an equation
5) add path followPath to the frame.

simple after the first 3 days:-)
