@ueeu I have started to use different apps during the last couple of weeks. As I am using #GarudaLinux I am trying to find apps that are also working under #Linux. I ended up using:

I am glad I am making the change.
Just made the decision to move away from Garuda Linux!
1: Removing a Philosophical Thorn In My Side
Garuda runs beautifully and looks fantastic but the team behind it are, generally speaking, not what I'd call "beginner friendly". I'm seeking friendlier shores. Hopefully, that's CachyOS.2: Magpie-ing Towards Greater Performance
CachyOS is getting a lot of praise and attention right now for its specially-optimised Kernel and software which delivers (anecdotally) the fastest Arch experience available, and Arch is already quick compared to some other flavours of Linux. I'm never not one to turn down a free performance upgrade! Exciting!3: Finally Banishing the Beast
I'm a fibber, for convenience. I tell people I've moved to Linux and ditched Windows. The first is true: the second is only half true; Windows still exists on my drive. I've not logged into it in over a year (cross my heart), and the Grub bootloader in this dual-boot system defaults to Linux, but it's still there taking up valuable space on my drive - a full Terabyte - that could be used more profitably. It's time to reclaim that space and become full Linux for keeps.4: Backups, Backups, Backups
In order to help me do all this I've bought a new backup hard drive that covers my current SSD capacity. I already have a backup drive but it's only 500Gb (like my last SSD was) and is currently serving as a home for some other data anyway. Having a backup of your full system is something everyone should be doing, especially if you're as fiddle-friendly as I am. The threat of accidentally breaking something and losing everything is real. Snapper system snapshots are fantastic but still that extra layer of comfortable security would be appreciated.🚀 CachyOS is an Arch Linux-based distribution that…

Needing to use mesa-git to get good FPS at the moment. Though it's also causing some annoying graphical glitches in some games. Hopefully that'll all be ironed out soon. Impressive none-the-less. Getting 90-120+ FPS among various games at my ridiculous 7680x2160 resolution (with the help of FSR in most cases). #9070XT #PCGaming #GamingOnLinux #GarudaLinux
The build is complete! Man, this thing is fast as hell. Lots more setup to go, but it felt great to finally turn it on after months of planning and waiting.

Sehr interessant!

Yess!! The new #GarudaLinux dropped this morning! Now I just need the CPU and I’ll be rocking. #PCgaming
My new PC will soon be complete! Assuming I can get my hands on one of these bad boys next week... hoping they're a little more niche than the 9800X3D and easier to obtain.
Now I just need the new #GarudaLinux version to drop; any day now I hope. But I've got the previous version ready to go and would soon to be to date with the rolling releases anyway, just nice to have.

so.

oh what do i even what to know.
select.
How does one select multiple packages/ software apps while browsing pacseek interface (the ncurses whatever type thing package manager oft used with #ArchLinux #EndeavourOS #GarudaLinux )?
The [ ] checkbox area suggests one might place a checkbox there.
so, you know. ROTFLMAO and it doesn't seem to tell me anything about even TLDR enough to blow-ma-friggin-mind. like Richie Rich, on Adult Swim as a claymation character talking about gold.
"Okay, so. This is where the magic happens" He said,
"Operator? Connect me to the Moon!"
#SethGreen gets it.
Anyway.
So, you yous dos that, ovar heer, huh? whadizthisfriggin[increasingly distrorted]
Lol, so much for #GarudaLinux. Definitely got the #ArchLinux charm, the live disc immediately crashed into a black screen.
To be fair, Gnome was visible for about… 0.3 seconds!
#Linux
Wait, #GarudaLinux got both bootable btrfs snapshots as well as comprehensive GUI settings? Now I am curious.
Still, it's based on #ArchLinux. Eventual breaks will basically be a given.

Desperate attempt to move away from Windows 10 to Garuda Linux. The OS looks so beautiful and had high hopes, but right from the start encountering package conflicts, installer getting stuck and sadly, quite poor performance (with Proton) when compared to Windows. Still trying few more use cases, but getting a bit feeling that it is still not time for Linux gaming :( #linux #GarudaLinux #gaming
I'm really considering switching from Pop!_OS to Arch/Garuda Linux. I need a newer version of GTK, but Pop!_OS is stuck on an older version, which is a blocker for me. I really like Arch/Garuda a lot—the rolling upgrades are a big advantage compared to being stuck on ancient versions of packages. That said, switching OSes is a huge commitment, looking at 1-3 days to get everything set up. I could take a day or two to write a script and let it do the work.

I believe it's a testament to all of what's involved in making that happen.

But that (the images shown in the URL) took me 20 mins to customize (from some random theme i selected because i liked the balance of light and dark colors), And i think the rainbow title bar seems different and cool. refreshing.
But this new ease of use-- like #calamares for example (am i right @sgs @EndeavourOS - it eliminates 90% of most hiccups which present obstacles to the uninformed) . #opinions
This demonstration of my experience with the #Plasma desktop on #GarudaLinux says a lot about how easy it is to make a #Linux #DesktopEnviorment pleasing to your daily #productivity flow.
Once you "cut the cord" to the #MS World, and the fog dissipates, the realization slowly appears: It's a perfectly #cromulant desktop, Marge.
better to be most accustomed to what your productivity-flow looks like from within the #Linux environment, should you wish to experiment.
thining about playing around with linux, and that guy commenting about the #AUR etc. I want to be clear that any of the #distro i've mentioned are because I've used it and found it remarkable. I've only recently started playing with #ArchLinux , in particular #GarudaLinux and #EndeavourOS while I have installed #ArtixLinux a couple of times, oh and a couple of what I would call "really bloated" arch linux distros. blue-mountain something or other. def don't want that, **personally** . for someone, i'm sure it's great and a seamless transition from windows perhaps.
I dont konw what the rest of the world enjoys for a Linux desktop. I don't know what I enjoy for a Linux Desktop!. I've relied upon #MXLinux since circa 2021. I can't complain about a thing about it, as far as a solid #Debian-based system goes.
I enjoy playing with these #Arch #Distrubutions as they seem to afford some pretty cool apps I might otherwise not have realized. So, it's like playing. It's like getting on my friends #Amiga back in 8th grade and being like, "Holy shit! WTF is all this stuff?" So, that's a good thing!
