Stworzenie własnej apki GNOME na Linuxie jest prostsze niż myślałem. Pobrałem sobie przedwczoraj GNOME Buildera, parę kliknięć i mam gotowe środowisko do pisania apki w Pythonie i budowania Flatpaka i od wczoraj robię własnego klienta PeerTuba.

Ask Ubuntu@TheGymNerd I believe @daniel meant that majority of the software doesnt have any #uidesigner or #uxdesigner, and most of #uidesign #uxdesign is done on #developer feelings. Sure, #gnome looks nice, but its mostly because everyone uses #advaita and follows more or less #humaninterfaceguidelines. About #accessibility, although I dont require it, you really notice it when the application was designed by "developers" when in games you cant even change the controls, or its Eclipse (java IDE) where you install plugins through help menu bar item.
Has anyone tried Apostrophe? It's a Markdown editor built for @gnome that looks amazing. I've never tried it, but this post (https://www.xda-developers.com/i-tried-apostrophe-and-now-i-cant-write-using-any-other-app/) made me install it. Check it out here: https://apps.gnome.org/Apostrophe/
Unicode is utterly ubiquitous, you aught to understand it! Runemaster lets you browse the character set in all it's glory, and find out more about any letter or symbol. If you need to identify some text, paste it in the scratchpad, and see the name, code and origin of each component character. With everything sorted into groups, and related entries clear to see, Runemaster helps a bunch!
You can get the app on Flathub here: https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.johnfactotum.Runemaster

Ask UbuntuStill waiting for #GNOME 48 to hit #nixpkgs - but was also thinking of making a temporary switch - to #Fedora 42.
Riddle me this, my little scatlings: with the SSD divided up into #BTRFS subvolumes, what's to prevent me from just deleting and recreating the root subvolume (which for historical purposes is dubbed "@") to then install Fedora 42 to try the latest edition?
Again, the #nix flake remains in the "@home" subvolume, meaning I could always bring back #NixOS to its previous state.
Wish list item: A world clock that doesn't force UTC to 12 hour time if local time is also set to 12 hour. I know this is an American thing- if I could learn to think of local time in 24 hours, this wouldn't be an issue. But I feel that software should be a little more flexible than it is.
Screenshots for #iOS and #GNOME shown. I don't have access to recent #Android, but it was like iOS and GNOME last I checked.
Bottom line: #UTC should never be expressed in 12 hour time (AM/PM), IMHO.

As you see here I already have configured the minimal amount of users that I need in my K Desktop Environment
The next phase will take a bit of time because I need to fine tune critical small keyboard shortcuts so that they work as transparently as they do in xFace with muscle memory

Im starting to achieve platform distro OS translucency regarding more and more projects. Now I can smoothly work in my hugo projects from any distro I want in Linux. All I need to do is keep the copies I work on in sync.
Since I dont run zfs jet on a centralized HDD / SSD I simply use mc -a to do the job manually.
Normally it should be trivial, but the hugo projects want rm -Rf dir otherwise old files with similar size can be changed, thus screwing up continuity
Since my KDE MX install is smoothing out in cfg features I need, which is a combo of XFce components and KDE, I can smoothly switch to the KDE distro and work further while I tune it.
I chose to keep XFce seperate from KDE distro wise due to size constraints I;ve put on my boot partition

Why does _every app_ need to have its own support for setting a comfortable zoom and font size? With #Wayland wouldn't it be possible for the compositor to allow the user to scale apps however they like using a consistent mechanism? Much like the browser lets me scale tabs independently, I would like my compositor to let me scale apps independently.

It took me years… YEARS to figure out a reliable way to trigger the #GNOMEWeb / #WebKitGTK bug where the native general "Copy/Back/Forward/Reload" right-click menu would show up on top of GMail's custom contextual menus.
Finally I found a 100% surefire way to make it happen. Now it seems so straightforward, all of a sudden
