Human society is on a "highway" to hell because so many Humans are environmentally ignorant. This ignorance causes environmental neglect, in that humans can't care about something that they're not aware of. Also & generally, society is awash with #greenwash. Misleading narratives that paint a better picture than reality. For one example, in the #UK, coal burning power stations have been closed down, but, people are burning coal in their homes because they're, generally, ignorant

@LeftistLawyer It rather depends on how you get the H2, there is "Green hydrogen" which is obtained by splitting H2O using electric from renewables, and then there is "Blue hydrogen" which is obtained by splitting CH4 (in this case fossil methane, releasing CO2 in the process). So called carbon capture and storage requires more energy put in than you get out, so it is #Greenwash on a massive scale. Added to which H2 is highly reactive and so difficult (expensive) to store and transport...
