@hweimer That’s certainly the case with #GUIX compared to #NixOS. GUIX was able to do a lot of very advanced stuff with build closures while Nix had backwards compatibility to worry about. Nix still scans the entire nixpkgs to build a package for example.
Nix still leads solely because of the network effect and flakes but IMO, this clunky build issue will eventually cause #Nix to be entirely replaced by something shiny and new that does this without drawbacks in the long run.
Are @daviwil 's #nonguix installation instructions still the best non #guix start? https://wiki.systemcrafters.net/guix/
I tried #Guix system but struggled with missing packages and Flatpak not working reliable. Luckily Guix complements other distros like Debian for managing configurations and installing applications. Applications appear in the menu after logging in again. So Guix on Debian is my next pursuit for a more declarative linux setup.
Updated another three packages in GNU Guix:
- gnu: thermald: Update to 2.5.9.
- gnu: jc: Update to 1.25.5.
- gnu: btop: Update to 1.4.3

Can I promise that I will get this done? Certainly not. But I will try.
I’m starting from a minimal prototype (a dragon who can jump). Needed steps:
- add puzzles when opening chests
- add more levels
- add music
- package with #guix pack as a playable game (for Linux)
Save a cute dragon’s friends in a jump-n-puzzle

How can you miss it?
