Both #Halcyon and #semaphore stopped development years ago, and there's not really any supporting documentation for setup requirements or expectation of further development. This is sad because these were the only static UI alternatives I know of. Looking at even #Brutaldon (python) or #Elk would require more dedicated hosting then I want to get into right now.

Found a thread to pull on for using npm/yarn and others on namecheap's shared hosting. If that looks promising, #Enafore and #Phanpy will be up for testing tomorrow

I'd really like to see something like this on Mastodon. Right now the replies don't mean anything unless I open them. Unmaintained Mastodon client Halcyon manages to do this, so it can be done in core as well. I once tried it via JS but my skills are not enough for it to be reliable enough.

While maneuvering the #Halcyon around an asteroid field, Captain Keevan manages to find someone along the way.

This was one of the things that changed from voyage to voyage on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser as I understand it. Other cruises had different paths for this part of the narrative but the outcome was always the same.

Accessing the Atrium terminals via your M-band on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser is very important as some adventures or missions start & are aided there.

It'll tell you what physical access you have on the ship & if your M-band will open certain areas.

It's not good enough to ride the coattails of others: You have to accomplish the missions or other 'experiences' don't appear for you.

This is some of what makes the #Halcyon experience similar to an elaborate "Escape Game".

There's a number of digital objects that weave their way into your #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser adventure that only you may uniquely have to unlock parts of a broader story on the #Halcyon & #Batuu.

How are they used? I'll leave that up to your imagination. But just remember: You meet an awful lot of actual people on your journey including those from the First Order, the Resistance, and even Smugglers.

"VISA. It's everywhere you want to be." Even in the "Chandrila Collection" merch store onboard the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser. They also take Magic Ban---- I mean, "M-Band" as they call it on the #Halcyon.

Real talk: They make it soooo easy to buy in-universe apparel, galactic accessories & jewelry, Halcyon-branded merch, even a Light Saber, with that M-Band. It takes a lot of self control to not buy "all the things" on a whim.

I don't have that kind of self-control.

If you managed to get into Engineering on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser, you might spot the famous "HS + LO" initials written in Aurebesh as documented in Beth Revis' novel, "The Princess & the Scoundrel".

But there's a lot more in there. For example, here's a photo of one of the notes a certain smuggler also left on the #Halcyon Engineering controls.

And yes, Engineering is super important & there's several things you get do in there. But you can read about that elsewhere.

Sometimes on the #Halcyon, the shipboard "Currency Droid" requires maintenance. All kidding aside, it's one of the many convenient amenities Disney makes available on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser.
