🪫 Another victim of the ravages of time and leaky batteries - a once splendid motherboard for a PC 486. "Bonus points" for the battery's proximity to the main power connector and the BIOS chip... While we managed to bypass most of the damage with some wires and replaced the battery, it still freezes at a certain POST code.

Another minor victory this week, repairing a frayed cable on my car charger. Cut, spliced and soldered the A/C wires, and moved the grommet onto a fresh piece of cable. €250 to replace, but only £31 for the security bits to remove the case!
