#MastodonIntroduction Hey all, so I thought today I would also crest a personal account here on #Mastodon, most of you will know me as the founder of the award-winning website #BlazingMinds which I have also got an account for at @BlazingMinds

I thought it would be best to have separate accounts. Happy tooting folks.

IcemanofOz

Hi, I'm new here so thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Isaac, born in Alice Springs, Northern Territory and now live in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, via numerous other parts of Australia.

I'm an ex chef who now works as a Cellar Hand making wine for one of the many Barossa wineries.

I follow the AFL (Richmond Tigers), the NBL (Adelaide 36ers) and the NBA (Chicago Bulls and all the Aussies playing over there).

I watch way too much Netflix and enjoy reading Non fiction books of a wide variety. Have quite an interest in technology and the security aspect of it especially. Bit of a car and motorbike enthusiast, who has been known to make a habit of buying and selling cars of interest on a regular basis.

Looking forward to finding plenty of interesting people and accounts to follow.

This is my 2nd #MastodonIntroduction as I had to move instance, so apologies to those who already know me and 'hi' to my new sciences.social instance 🙂

Academic writing #AcWri is my thing as well as the #RealPolitik that surrounds it, eg calls for #SlowAcademia, ethical #AcademicPublishing practices, and ensuring those who don't easily get their academic voices heard are read (eg my work with ucl.ac.uk/nahrein/apply/academ).

More in my bio.

Very happy to be on #AcademicMastodon!

By way of a #MastodonIntroduction, I'm a UK-based academic working part-time at the Open University's Graduate School & Dept. of Languages & Applied Linguistics.

Academic Writing (#AcWri) is my thing, especially its socio-linguistic, #ArtificialIntelligence and critical implications (hence #CriticalRealism in my profile).

I toot in English, Italian, French.
