MS Teams has never had a good UI. The entire concept of teams and channels undermines collaboration and communication, which should be its core value proposition.
But the new UI just made it worse... Teams, channels, chats are either mixed or disappear from the top view. You get notifications and have no clue where to look for the corresponding event.
I had been working with #mattermost integrated with #jitsimeet . Worked perfectly. Until MS lobbied during pandemic.

Je vois que je ne suis pas le seul à passer par KeepassXC. 
Avec ça le client Electron de Mattermost n’a aucun avantage par rapport au client Web, à moins d’être dépourvu d’un navigateur Web.
À voir si je change d’avis quand des clients alternatifs apparaîtront. Un client en TUI par exemple.
Super votre service Framateam ! On l'utilise pour les Hackathons Du Libre avec une communauté de développeurs naissante. On est une quinzaine et les fonctionnalités de chat écrit et audio sont au top, fiables et agréables à utiliser sans compter qu'on peut l'avoir sur ordinateur et téléphone.
Bravo pour la qualité du service rendu !
Sans ça notre projet n'aurait pas pu démarrer en distanciel !

#mattermost ist auch so ein schmerzhaftes Beispiel. Enthusiasten wie @xldrkp loten alle Möglichkeiten aus, auch für die Lehre. #Slack User finden Mattermost nicht adäquat und werben für die Slack-Channels (bis sich die Slack-Konditionen ändern). Der Rest kennt und will #teams.
Mattermost ändert die Konditionen und will Geld sehen. Wahrscheinlich waren alternative Finanzierungsmodelle nicht möglich.
Wir sehen uns bei Teams. (Lizenz- und Preisentwicklung offen)

J'ai une question pour une asso que j'accompagne : on a quoi comme diff entre #nextcloud et #mattermost ?
J'utilise nextcloud en solo, je vois bien l'usage en équipe et ça me semble plutot centré sur les features stockage/agenda etc avec en plus de quoi discuter, et mattermost a l'air de se centrer sur les discussion d'abord, mais un éclairage serait pas de refus !
Le reboost va aider une asso très sympa d'accueil de jeunesse internationale 
J'ai découvert il y a peu @domainepublic, une ASBL 
(Association Sans But Lucratif), équivalent de nos associations loi 1901 
. C'est un CHATONS 
belge 
. Ils font plein de belles choses avec les logiciels libres : #Nextcloud, #BigBlueButton, #Mattermost, #PeerTube…

У меня наконец дошли руки рассказать, как мы переехали всей командой разработки со Slack на Mattermost. Если коротко, на момент апреля 2022 года у нас в Slack было около 4.5 тыс пользователей, больше половины из которых было активных, то есть хотя бы раз в неделю были онлайн. За месяц в среднем отправлялось 386 тысяч сообщений. И с начала 2016 года было загружено 3 млн файлов.

ХабрRight now, Aalborg University is very much a Microsoft shop. Most of the academic staff use Macs (or #Linux, like your friendly neighbourhood nerd here), but the whole administration and backend is on #windows, #Teams, #Outlook & friends.
I do wonder whether it would be time to at least _consider_ alternatives such as #Mattermost, #libreoffice, #Nextcloud etc.
This non-profit will also run a community #Mattermost server, a #Mastodon instance, and soon a #Peertube instance. These are free and open source alternatives to those developed by our tech overlords.

摏 @alan@mindly.socialYesterday I figured I'd try setting up something I could use to work with my critique group. I was looking for collaborative editing, chat, etc. Nextcloud looked like a good candidate, so I gave it a go.
Well, Nextcloud is obviously designed to be an enterprise solution. That thing repeatedly hammered my poor little VPS into the ground on the simplest of operations. I took it out and restored Mattermost, which is great for chatting with a curated group and some other Slack-like tasks, but doesn't support collaborative editing.
The search continues.

Mastodon would be a good broadcast site, #Mattermost would be fabulous for interaction.
