A #meshnetwork is a local area network topology in which the infrastructure nodes (i.e. bridges, switches, and other infrastructure devices) connect directly, dynamically and non-hierarchically to as many other nodes as possible and cooperate with one another to efficiently route data to and from clients.
…Mesh networks dynamically self-organize and self-configure…This in turn contributes to fault-tolerance and reduced maintenance costs.

In einem Video heißt es, Reticulum sei angetreten, "um das Internet zu ersetzen".

Aktuell steckt es noch in den Kinderschuhen (Beta), aber das klingt sehr vielversprechend, ermöglicht es doch eine Kommunikation über viele Verbindungen, egal ob ober Internet, Wifi, Satellit, Bluetooth, LoRa, aber auch Packet Radio, usw. - über ein Interface!

Es braucht nicht mal Internet Service Provider - also Anbietende wie Telekom, Vodafone, usw., sondern kann rein Peer-to-Peer übertragen werden.

Verschlüsselt. Nicht zensierbar, uvm.

Das kann was Großes werden!

When I flew back home, I had to fly over my hometown and catch a connecting flight back in.

Using a GPS-enabled #meshtastic node, I successfully managed to send a message from myself in the air down to a node I own and control on the ground while flying over.

These ad hoc comms networks are cool!

@geerlingguy for us as wireless community mesh network people with @freifunk for instance, #DFS is still a big problem, we still can't use 5GHz outdoor for a #MeshNetwork. I'm wondering if the #FCC were to delete DFS if maybe this could lead to some rethinking here in Europe with the #ETSI or in Germany with the @BNetzA, too.

@Polychrome #Qaul comes to my mind, it's in development for quite some time: https://qaul.net/. But haven't really used it myself yet. What I did use successfully is @mwarning 's simplistic #Meshenger: https://github.com/meshenger-app/meshenger-android
But despite its name it doesn't have a built-in #mesh feature, you'd need to use it over a layer 2 #MeshNetwork like @batadv / #Freifunk. Similarly, for texting instead of voice @pidgin's #Bonjour Chat comes to my mind (but I think there is no Android app for it yet?)

Unsere Lampen verbinden sich jetzt vollautomatisch zu einem Mesh-Netzwerk und synchronisieren ihren Status – für eine dezentrale Lichtsteuerung mit nur einer Handbewegung.

Das gesamte Projekt (Code + 3D-Modelle) ist Open Source und kann mit etwas Vorwissen ganz einfach nachgebaut & angepasst werden!

I'm excited to check out @HSBXL tomorrow evening, while I'm in #Brussels for a few days. Last time I visited @HSBXL was for the @battlemesh v2 in 2009 and it got me deep into the #meshnetwork|s and esp. @batadv rabbit hole :D. If anyone has recommendations for cool events this week here or has co-working spaces recommendations during the day for programming, let me know :-).

#Meshtastic onboarding easier than #Reticulum but uses only LoRa for communication. Range testing next.

You can tell I'm from Yorkshire. Commercial 3d boxes cost twice as much as the cost of the radio itself, so I drilled some holes in the original box it came in. Job done
