I had never seen that crescent Earth image until early this year when a follower very helpfully pointed out to me a part of the Lavochkin website:

which had the image. There are plenty of images in those pages in the Gallery section for each mission, not all labelled correctly. This one was mislabelled as from Luna 16. Here it is.

The 4th section of the Lunokhod 2 route map brings us well into the hills, and into a crater called Margo, about 750 m across. At the south edge of the map the rover tracks show a struggle to climb out of the crater, eventually resolved by driving east, more diagonally up the slope. Reports that Lunokhod 2 imaged a crescent Earth above the hills might refer to this location, where the slope might allow the cameras to see Earth to the southwest. #maps #moon #luna21 #lunokhod2

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

We're out for walkies again. The weather is nice enough, with a lovely waning moon...

I did my best at the gym, as much as my leg allowed. I rode 35 minutes and then enjoyed the massage chair for ten. I was earlier, so it was busier. Which wasn't too good, but my music and phone helped to distract me.

Today should be a decent enough day. I need to finish my journal post, but that's almost done already. I wanna build the laptop table that I bought yesterday. And I want to change the curtains in the bedroom. The old curtains will need a wash, and then I hope that I can make a friend happy with them...

I need some groceries today, and I'll have my PT. I can discuss the upcoming surgery then. And, hopefully, my PT will know something that could help my annoying elbow...

If the weather will allow, and if Arwen is interested, I'd like to take her to the Herperduin again. I know she really loves it... it's such a joy to watch her have a good time there.

Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog now... Hope you've all had a good start of the new week!

Пустыня Атакама расположена высоко над уровнем моря, влажность низкая, так что это идеальное место для наблюдения за звездами. Недаром там расположено много телескопов. Конечно, я сначала купил билеты, и только потом посмотрел календарь фаз Луны. В результате практически на полнолуние попал-в самое неудачное время.
За прошедший год руки так и не дошли обработать фото звёздного неба, но когда-нибудь займусь.
