1. We finally bought a trail cam for some recreational property we maintain as a nature preserve in Skagit County, Washington.

2. Retrieved the images and found multiple captures of a gorgeous bobcat!

Lady Among the Branches

"I’ve heard from at least a couple of people who mentioned that female northern cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis) are their favorite. This one caught my eye during a walk in the woods. There's a curious blue spot near her tail that has me puzzled—perhaps it’s a small flower or an autumn leaf.

In the tea garden, I found these grass nests yesterday.

They appear to be the old nests of harvest mice (Micromys minutus) .

New to me that the mouse can build its house on things other than grass stalks .
