@jswright61 I've been using Tailscale extensively for a while - it's so fscking easy to set up mesh networking for all your servers and services. Slack's #Nebula is great too if you want to try something more open-source and self-hosted.

Adamas Nemesis

Being bound for where no man has gone before hits different when you're in the ever-so-classic flying saucer. They're not just for aliens: they offer certain intriguing aerodynamic properties. So for all we know, this might be out future: "Flying saucers rocketing through sepia and purple nebula", by yours truly.

Faint broadband targets are almost a no-no for imagers like me living in a huge city. TBH I never thought I could pull this out: I introduce to y’all part of rho Ophiucci’s nebula!

This is a little bit more than 8 hours of total integration of 60 s exposures through LRGB filters taken with my small 90 mm refractor telescope.

It truly is the most becoming color for woman and child alike; a vision where the most primal aspects of our past meet the aspirations of the far future: my very own "Baby blue nebula".

After solving the IR LED issue, I pointed my scope at one of my favorite narrowband targets: The Crescent Nebula. This target has incredible detail in H-alpha, but the real star of the show for me is the blue OIII "shell" around it. With only 40 minutes of exposure time on that filter, it's already starting to show and will only get more pronounced with more exposure time.

IC 418: The Spirograph Nebula

What is creating the strange texture of IC 418? Dubbed the Spirograph Nebula for its resemblance to drawings from a cyclical drawing tool, planetary nebula IC 418 shows patterns that are not well understood. Perhaps they are related to chaotic winds from the variable central star, which changes brightness unpredictably in just a few hours.

Gum 37 and the Southern Tadpoles

Glowing gas and dust clouds adorn the young stars of NGC 3572 in Carina, 9,000 light-years away. Spanning 100 light-years, this image captures the #Hubble palette colors of Gum 37's natal cloud, with dense areas possibly birthing new stars. Over time, gravity and supernovae will disperse the cluster.

IC 418: The Spirograph #Nebula

The Spirograph Nebula (IC 418) displays mysterious patterns possibly due to its central star's chaotic winds. Once like our Sun, it evolved from a red giant to shedding its outer layers, leaving a core that will become a white dwarf. Located 2000 light-years away, this #Hubble image captures its enigmatic glow.

Beautiful emission #nebula NGC 6164 was created by a rare, hot, luminous O-type #star, some 40 times as massive as the Sun.

Seen at the center of the cosmic cloud, the star is a mere 3 to 4 million years old. In another three to four million years the massive star will end its life in a #supernova explosion.

Lobster Claw and Bubble Nebulae

Lots happening here - 3 obvious bright emission nebulae and my first Herbig-Harbo object (HH-170), a tiny grey fuzzy reflection nebula surrounding a newborn star just above the centre of the frame.

About 20hr data on these well-known objects in Cassiopeia and Cepheus. Nebulae processed in the HaHOO palette; stars overlayed in real colour.

NGC 6164: A Dragon's Egg

Rare O-type star 40x Sun's mass created NGC 6164, a bipolar emission #nebula with a faint halo, resembling planetary nebulae. At 3-4 million years old, the star will supernova in another few million years. The nebula spans 4 light-years and lies 4,200 light-years away in constellation Norma.
