Wow. Also #Nextcloud ist schon heftig. War mir bisher nicht so klar. Und die managed Lösung von @hetzner ist auch zudem noch ein sehr fairer Preis. Gekauft, Kalender, Kontakte aktiviert und schon Daten von Google und OneDrive importiert.

Läuft bisher ziemlich super.

With a recent update of the IOS #Nextcloud app it seemingly lost the info it had about backing up my Photos and I had to reconfigure it again.

It then decided I had about 300000 (yes) files to sync and has spent quite a few battery charges bringing that down to 10000 less.

I don't have 300000 photos on my phone. All of the ones it has done so far already have been backed up before as well.

Why I didn't select "new photos only"? Well, it didn't have the last ten or so backed up when I had to reconfigure it and I was fine re-sending the actual amount of files.

I guess I'll have to nuke things.

And you can use #NextCloud without signing a #BindingArbitration agreement.

I'd really love it if Ente would explain why they inserted that legal jiggery-pokery into their ToS, as it seems antithetical to the ethos (and counterproductive to the objectives) of a privacy-respecting company.

Because I would otherwise be a user already.

@nicemicro I'm interested in that sharing feature of #Nextcloud. How's did you organise that? Do the have an account on the same (your?) Nextcloud instance? Do they need an Nextcloud account anyway for that?

@profdc9 @ilumium #OnlyOffice works quite nicely with #NextCloud, I use that with my family to share documents.

Gotta say, right now it seems my little @nextcloud thing is rather seamlessly replacing not just Google Drive & Docs but also Dropbox... the only minor thing is,upload isn't exactly snappy - maybe it'll be a little better if I start paying, which I probably will, but if not it isn't a deal breaker for me, I can work around that

Has anyone tried the new two way sync on the Nextcloud Android app?

While not perfect #nextcloud is the hands-down winner. I run ours on a RPI-5.

Currently lacks #ActivityPub (current app is promoted but is hopelessly broken) but for photos files chat and sharing links to your files nothing else comes close.

There was someone working on a Social replacement; maybe if note of us use it and moan about Social, perhaps more devs will find it important. I would so much rather have Social functional than have any chat ai assistant I'd never use!

Ich habe seit gestern Abend #Recognize auf meiner #Nextcloud am Laufen, die meine Bilder zu taggen versucht. Vieles ist OK (hat mir viele tolle Erinnerungen zu gewissen Themen zurückgebracht ), aber einiges ist auch völlig an den Haaren herbeigezogen.

@sarahsquirrel #UX is an interesting thing with ActivityFed since choice or service, server and UI are all kind of independent. e.g. I use #Lemmy communities alot via a #Friendica server that I sometimes access via web UI and othertimes via #Fedilab as such you could actually help with UX of lemmy by contributing to #Friendica or #Fedilab as well.

Regards your local group perhaps #friendica might provide a fuller set of features or indeed you could spin up something like #Yunohost and run a Friendica and #lemmy service for them (and throw in some #Nextcloud to)

Auch hier sehr gut zu sehen: Wenn es zu einem Bild keine ausreichenden passenden Trainingsdaten gibt, wird einfach zufällig etwas gewählt.
