The Netherlands delays its nitrogen emissions target, defying its own judges and the EU.

The Dutch government confirmed it will push back its deadline to halve nitrogen emissions from 2030 to 2035, defying a recent court order.

With its high-density farming, the Netherlands has long been ground zero for Europe’s nitrogen crisis. The country ranks among the EU's worst for nitrogen pollution per hectare.

🌍🪨Did you know some metamorphic #rocks, called metabasic rocks, are an enormous source of #nitrogen being carried deep into the Earth through subduction? A deep nitrogen (N) cycling study by Ananya Mallik, Anna Rebaza, Paul Kapp, Long Li, Yifan Du, Ahmed Al Shams, Emily Cooperdock unveiled these and more. Check out their dataset and article at doi.org/10.25422/azu.data.2350 and doi.org/10.1016/j.gca.2023.10.. Image: Stockcake #OpenData #OpenScience #Geosciences #UniversityofArizona

#Whale pee moves vital nutrients thousands of miles
'We often think of plants as the lungs of the planet. Animals are the circulatory system.’
Some new research found that great #whales—including right whales, gray whales, and humpbacks—transport roughly 4,000 tons of #nitrogen to low-nutrient coastal areas in the tropics and subtropics every single year. Described as the “great whale pee funnel.”

Read about #PhosphorusLimitation #nitrogen and #oceanDesertification
And of course #biodiversityloss

In 20 to 30 years, oceans could be empty and we won't be able to grow food

This is amazing the speed at which we are destroying the planet, knowing it and most important knowing the solutions

We simply do not want to change...

4Z-0T, "Azot"

Azot is a chemical weapon, designed and experienced with by EvoWorks scientist in the "Chemical Sector". The laboratory he was made in, is located near Anchorage in Alaska.
Scientist experienced the use of nitrogen as some kind of weaponry. A cryo-blaster, freeze ray, etc. At last it was speculated what effects these nitrogen weapons had, when used by an artificial creature. That's how Azot was created.
turned out that liquid nitrogen would cause more trouble than originally thought. The joints and cyber optics constantly froze, That obviously had to be fixed somehow.
They used a special, secret metallic alloy, which was automatically emitting a high temperature. The scientist combined that artifical body with that alloy, coating important features with it.
This solution was actually a really great success. They infused the new weapons with his arms, while containing some small machine within his back, which would filter out the nitrogen in the air, making it be able to be used by him as ammunition for the experimental weapons.

I like to go in all kind of direction when creating characters. robots, demons, cultists, half-bloods, angels, etc. In his case, i wanted to make a chemical weapon. i don't know why, i was just always fascinated by chemistry lol

The picture was created with AI, all other stuff like lore and design idea came from my head.

#Agriculture is main cause of seasonal carbon ups and downs, study finds

"The study found that agricultural #nitrogen is responsible for 45% of the fluctuation increase in the annual carbon cycle. More carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and warmer temperatures contribute 40% and 18%, respectively."

Again:
"The research found that agricultural NITROGEN FERTILIZER is the biggest contributor."
