going one step further, non-corporate-friendly disclosures opens up the 3rd-party investigator to legal reprisals. They can easily weaponize a clause in the EULA that bans reverse-engineering. Even worse with SaaS because you've probably been testing the defenses of their network.
Non-corporate-friendly disclosures requires #anonymization and #opsec. And #P2P distribution of #code #snippets that aren't hosted on a #BigTech platform like #github.

post was written as reply in thread announced discontinuation of queer.party instance, but Original Post of Topic Starter lost #queer.party #queerparty
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
that wouldn't be the case if queer.party was really decentralized #p2p like freenet, hyphanet, scuttlebutt manyverse tildefriends, #web3, (or at lame case #nostr)
So refugees are welcomed to try those.
There is also promising project AutonomiDweb, but I haven't seen any users posting content there.
You could also try http://mitra.social & #hubzilla , both should have nomadic identities.

Примеры таких приложений: Notion-like редакторы, Figma-like вайтборды или Linear-like таск менеджеры. Основная идея – коллаборация, а коллаборация несет за собой конфликты, разберем очень наглядный пример:

Sounds like an ideal use for #AutonomiDweb. It's #p2p and a bit like IPFS but you pay on upload and that's it. No servers to maintain, no subscriptions etc and anyone will be able to view/access it by installing a simple app.
@kishy
@kishy I would like to find a way to save 'for sure' a large amount of data (music, film). But also to share the total amount with other people.
Let's say 1TB with some good old movies. If we are 1000 people to like them we can host just 1GB, maybe 10GB to duplicate a bit. It's safe enought.
But I cannot find a way to do that.
Like #IPFS or even #p2p ...
What are your thought about it?
Apps can now include dweb features such as browsing websites on #Autonomi using dweb v0.11.0
Here's a demo: a #Tauri app that can open websites directly on Autonomi in a standard browser. It's really easy to include in a CLI app too.
#Autonomi is like a #p2p cloud.
#AutonomiDweb is the web running on that cloud. No hosting, domains, surveillance or censorship.

Codeberg.orgSecure messaging, anywhere
briarproject.orgRight now, our digital lives are stuck between two bad choices: Stranded silos, your notes, photos, chats locked into one device. #dotcons capture, hand it all to Google, Apple, Meta, and rent your own history back from them.
We deserve better. What we actually need is simple: A blob of data that syncs across devices. A conflict resolution flow. Sync is hard, but not impossible — better to resolve a clash than lose control. A protocol path that isn’t “just another cloud,” but part of a commons. This is the path of the #OMN (Open Media Network).
Bridging client/server with #p2p flows, people power, hold their own history instead of renting it back from the #deatcult. To make this work, we need to keep it #KISS so normal people, not just geeks, can understand and use it. It’s not about building a new shiny app. It’s about laying the pipes, tanks, and flows – the plumbing – that keeps our media and our history in native flows.
This is shovel work. This is how we compost the #techshit and grow something real. The choice is clear, stay stuck in silos, lease life from the cloud. Or pick up the shovel and build a trust-based, decentralised future. The tools are #OMN, #4opens. What’s missing is you. Use it or lose it.
That’s the shovel work. That’s the compost. The question isn’t “can we build it?” – the question is: who’s going to pick up the shovel first?
What do we really need:
A blob of data that syncs across devices.
A conflict resolution flow (because yes, sync is hard, but solvable if you design for it).
A protocol path that is not “just another cloud,” but part of a commons.
This is what the #OMN path is sketching out:
Bridging client/server with #p2p flows.
Giving people the power to hold their own history (rather than leasing it back from Google/Meta).
Doing this inside a trust-based #4opens framework (#OpenData, #OpenSource, #OpenStandards, #OpenProcess).
Keeping it #KISS so a normal-ish human can understand what’s happening.
It’s not “a new app.” It’s plumbing — the pipes and tanks that allow history, content, and flows to move while staying in our hands.
Not the same as a sync library, but the same path: moving from stranded silos → cloud capture → trust-based decentralisation.
In a month I'm starting a bi-weekly-ish "p2p lecture" series in @offline!
It's about radical peer-to-peer, local-first, convergent data-types and networking.
14.10. at 7pm is the first session.
Read everything about it here:
https://pads.offline.place/p/r.06dda241c03ad92f2a55c47f4bbdd419
Is there a proper UX research of adding contacts (and onboarding) #UX across #p2p projects and how generally it is possible (if ever) to simplify adding of contacts without compromising the initial premise or ideas the P2P projects are rotating around?
E. g. due direct usage cryptographic primitives as identifiers of accounts or nodes, it is completely "unpercieveable" opaque abra-cadabras for people.
It is even hard to add contacts sometimes.
What a pale of nonsense. Decentralized web it is ActivityPub, p2p , self hosting to name a few. It is not yet there, but it is growing. Because fuck you big tech, that's why.

serverlesshorrors.comThe situation with #Guppe wouldn't happen if it was really decentralized aka #p2p fault tolerant tech. Like #Namecoin , .ens IPNS #IPFS, or #nostr #pubky #ZeroNet
@dandylover1
ipns://seedit.eth plebbit.com hashchan.org are interesting.
Meanwhile #Friendica & #Hubzilla have some groups too.
also shout out to @newsmast , they host few communities, check them out.
I've tried fedigroups.social & it's hard to use, unintutive & obscure. I see just a mastodon server there. It is not clear & obvsious from main home page how to list groups, posts inside groups, group members.
With such trend no wonder why people look back to #Usenet. However I think #XMPP is more usable (it does have groups and proto social network inside too)

Non-existent ideal messenger
In the fantasy world of #programming probably there is a special open-source and properly audited #p2p #privacy centered #messenger where:
1) all private keys are stored only locally
2) all locally stored data is encrypted with local-only keys that are saved with password-based encryption
3) a password that shows fake profile and data instead of real one
4) a special "self-destruct" password that zero-fill all data if typed and all local data with account lost
