Whenever I'm on my own profile on this website I catch a glimpse of these barrels and just go "wow, those are just some really great barrels"
Today I've planned to start working on the dialog system for my cute little RPG.
However, dialog is boring if you don't have anyone to talk to.
So while I'm contemplating how the dialog system should work, I'm also making a few temporary NPCs.

I got some great feedback even on my crude barely working demo at a very busy #gamerfest in the RDS in Dublin today. My #ProgrammerArt, hand drawn #texture work and 3D modelling got praise. I was even seriously asked if I am hiring (Are *you* hiring?). I'm glad I went in the end. I will definitely go back next year. Also did it entirely by train and bicycle #sustainabletransport FTW!
I made a little 'fan art' drawing for my own game
Just like my pixel art has improved, so has my actual drawing.
'Normal' drawing is what helps with my pixel art the most.
I've learned a lot about colors, shapes an simplifying from drawing.

I feel like I'm getting the hang of making the pixel art for my game.
Most of it will probably be remade or adjusted at some point, but I can make it much faster now, than when I started, and I have a better understanding of 2D art in general.

Today's playable find is #BeyondColumns 3 - never shipped it because I got busy with other projects (and according to publishers at the time nobody wanted match-3 mechanics any more...)

20 years ago I wrote some blitters specialized for the GBA, I never ended up using the tech in anything but it was fun to write. Anyway here is a video of it in action.
At this point in development, I want to bring more people onto the project, and I think the first step to doing that is to make a #VerticalSlice.
To get funding and make this a proper game with a proper team, I need a vertical slice to serve as a better example of what the final game will look like than my own #ProgrammerArt.
So! Right now the part of the game I want to turn into a vertical slice looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C9tEJhxpeI

Today I worked on implementing localisation scripts, a loading screen and pixel drawing a dog, badly. I may need to revisit the dog sprite, but it works for now #ProgrammerArt #GameDev #IndieGameDev
