#RandomQuestion: So, as I understand, in the U.S. justice system, it is possible for a defendant to represent themselves without a lawyer, and it's possible for a defendant to take the stand and give testimony.

Has there been a case where a defendant did both at once? How does that work? Do they only get to be cross-examined, and find themselves at the ability of giving themselves questions to answer as a testimony before the cross examination?

In your country/state, or where you live currently, do local networks (TV/cable/radio) engage in “self-validation”?

Some examples:
* We are the #1 6 o'clock news program.
* {Program_here} is the most watched investigative program in July.
* Our new TV series beat this and that network on the same time slot.

And so on.

Here in the #Philippines, I actually do not understand why local TV/cable networks are doing it. We've heard it from them for 20+ years now.

Psychologically speaking, does it have any effect at all?

If not, what is that one thing that local TV/cable/radio networks are frequently doing that doesn't make any sense for you?
