@scribblemacher Reading this thread led me to try Metroid II again as well. I played through it twice in the '90s, and I can't recall whether I've player it through again since. I replaced battery a few years ago, so I'm already starting from a fresh save.
Now I have my spouse's old Super Nintendo and Super Game Boy, so I have a new way to experience it!
The color scheme reminds me of CGA palettes, except I don't hate it.

@Dan_Ramos@noauthority.socialI finally broke out my Atari 7800+ and some of the games I'd picked up recently. Bently Bear's Crystal Quest is actually pretty great but you really need to use set the difficulty setting on the controller to"B" and use a good two-button gamepad like that RetroGameBoyz 7800 controller to play it properly.

I am trying to play Shining Force Sword of Hajya but savestates--including the sleep button!!--kill the game and wipe saves (on rom or physical cart). Can I somehow disable save states temporarily? It's so weird, they work on other GG games but absolutely not on Shining Force. Not sure where I can report the bug
