On ST:TNG and many other scifi shows of the 80s/90s freezer spacers like this were frequently used as grates, mechanical texturing elements, or (as in this example) with light behind.

Ok, #PoorThings is amazing in #SetDesign, #costumes, #cinematography, and #EmmaStone's acting.
Too many people unfairly criticized #Barbie for being #Feminism 101, which is ludicrous given who the primary target market was (literally no one expected more than a billion dollars, or anywhere near), but that's a much more fair and accurate assessment of Poor Things.
While it delivers the message with even more stunning style and flair than Barbie, there's nothing new, only more sexually explicit.
"The Umbrellas of Cherbourg," French filmmaker Jacques Demy's classic musical drama, is 60 years old this month. Demy once said of it: "I wanted to make people cry — to think of their first love." Meg Walters says it's the movie's interior spaces that she loves: The wallpapers, frilly umbrellas, dinky antique wooden furniture and color clashes. She writes for Dwell about the film's set design, which influenced recent blockbusters like "La La Land" and "Barbie."
