@northernscrub I haven't got a ready-list, depends on countries, features, cost, and then an ethical comparison.
However as far as enabling Homeland is concerned, the best is to put pressure on #Stripe themselves rather than boycott, *especially* as they are notoriously trigger-happy with closing accounts that seem not to follow their T&Cs, leaving many small businesses disgruntled.

Donations to The Debugger are temporarily down, which in the case of #Ghost rely on #Stripe by default. Now, Stripe decided to cancel The Debugger's account, just right after we published our article on #privacy . Coincidence? Probably yes. But we're looking for #onlinepayment alternatives out there, so if you have any suggestions (especially stuff that is not just Stripe or PayPal under the hood) they'll be much appreciated!

So, just wondering: what is a decent European alternative for payment handling like #Stripe? (It must support both single payments and monthly subscriptions.)

I've been out of the loop and I am sure there are people with experience here.

Preferably one with a matured API (and a Python library would be a nice bonus).

which you can report organisations to to protect yourself. This only works in Australia.

@ueeu the problem with #wero is that it's not #global and thus neither a replacement nor competitor to #PayPal!

In fact, it's at best the #EU version of #AliPay...

#WhatsMissing is an option for people and businesses outside the European Union to use it.

If it's more complex than a signup for PayPal, #Stripe or #NowPayments, it's not a real competitor.

I legitimately do not understand how other people deal with #Stripe I had to explain to them 5 times now that,

1. I am a writer.

2. I publish things on my blog, some premium, but most, open access.

3. I publish exclusive newsletters via email where people get charged when I send an email, #Patreon style.

And every single time, they can't figure me out or what I do. I guess my stuff has to be behind a hard paywall for them to get it? Trouble is, places like Liberapay and Comradery use them so I can't just throw up my hands and say, whatever.

These are their requests, in order.

1. Could you explain the nature of your business? Your blog isn't behind a pay wall.

2. Could you explain accessibility consulting? This isn't in our recognized list of services provided.

3. Could you explain your charity status?

I never claimed to be a charity so this last one baffles me.

Ugh! #Stripe gives me a headache on a daily basis. I'm trying to set up a pay per email system instead of a monthly subscription and my subscribers keep being directed to monthly subscription when they click their unique links and just ugh! If you're a Stripe expert, get in touch? #ButtonDown
