Some performance improvements incoming - focusing on a smooth multi-body space engine has been my focus as I took a few days to just clean up code, APIs and - happily running at 120fps (at 96x speed - where the n-body physics is still relatively stable) - the main bottleneck is now in the WebGL rendering itself!

Autism has its own #ThreeBodyProblem.
The DSM-5’s autism severity levels claim to clarify support needs but operate as a clinical caste system.
Level 2 ASD ‘validated’ me, but why must we rank human needs?
Severity levels feed #NDIS exclusion and systemic #ableist bias.
One shrink said I was ‘faking’; the system says I’m ‘not impaired enough.’
Time to incinerate the hierarchies #ActuallyAutistic

WW0CJIn The "Three body problem" the Trisolarians destroy human ability to do basic physics research, because that is the only meaningful way humans can defend themselves against the aliens.
The alien invasion fleet will take 120 years to arrive.
I see parallels with human physics being sabotaged. Our brightest physicists and universities, elevated #stringtheory to a religion...
..and just like religion, it has absolutely no scientific basis.
40+ years of human progress wasted.
Some folks speculate that "Three body problem" is #China soft #Disclosure (in light of this key concept).

I just finished up watching the first season of #ThreeBodyProblem on Netflix. Overall, I liked it, and found the story interesting and engaging. I'd probably like the book, if I were still able to read for pleasure. It was nice seeing Rosalind Chao (Keiko O'Brien from DS9) again. Wow, talk about a stonefaced performance.
Usually I'm fine with any old weird science in a sci-fi story, but there were a few sciencey bits that strained my willing suspension of disbelief. Since I didn't read the books, I don't know if something was lost in adaptation, but either way a couple things seemed to contradict known science in a way I couldn't accept as being consistent with our universe, and that felt at odds with the tone the story set. That didn't ruin the show or even come close, but it did take away a little something.
I didn't realize the show was done by the guys behind Game of Thrones until I finally noticed in the last episode, so now I'm a bit worried things may go wrong in the final season, but maybe they'll have learned their lesson and show some restraint. I am looking forward to future seasons. It's nice to get some serious, well made sci-fi on TV.
@CptSuperlative this is why I read sci-fi. Far future is sometimes much more utopian. Except #ThreeBodyProblem. That was the stuff of nightmares.
But I agree with you. We rarely agree on the degree to which changes must be brought to the systems in place. It’s never going to be a perfectly perfect process.

www.evangelosscifi.comI'm almost finished the final book of the #ThreeBodyProblem trilogy. The last part is quite abstract, so it's taking me a while.

The most unrealistic part of #LiuCixin's novel #ThreeBodyProblem is humankind uniting against a threat centuries away.
