La causa chiede un'ingiunzione per obbligare Microsoft a mantenere il supporto per Windows 10 almeno fino ad una quota di mercato sotto il 10%.
Poche possibilità di successo... ma interessante l'iniziativa contro la "rottamazione forzata" di 240 milioni di PC prevista per le esorbitanti richieste hardware di Win11 (dati Statcounter)

Weiterhin haben die neuen Computer in der Regel (also eigentlich immer) deutlich mehr Rechenleistung und verbrauchen auch deutlich mehr Energie im Betrieb, aggregiert also zusätzliche Belastungen mit CO2, die zudem fortan dauern anfallen.
Gibt es zum Thema Energieverbauch durch Aus für #Win10 schon Forschung?
The wife uses an old Win10 Surface tablet for general internet usage. It works great and never had a problem. It can not be upgraded to Win11 per the tool.
Now she is getting pestered daily to move to Windows 11.
It just kills me that perfectly working technology is subject to planned obsolescence.

I have an older am3+ mb with a ryzen fx-8350 black edition (I think built in 2012). It was my windows 10 machine but with the eol of win 10 I decided to install arch and gnome on it instead.
It would be plenty of powerful enough still to run win 11 (I know registry hacks work to install) but frankly I'm just over microsoft, their telemetry, their ad tech, and most importantly chatgpt/github copilot

Jetzt mache ich mir bestimmt Freunde 
In meiner Bubble geht seit einiger Zeit ein Gespenst um in Europa, das Gespenst des Endes von #Win10, das man nun unbedingt durch #Linux ersetzen müsse. Ich lese Missionare an jeder Ecke. Missionare sind peinlich.
Eigene Erfahrung: Windows habe ich vor ca. 30 Jahren entsorgt, war dann lange auf Linux unterwegs (erst Suse, dann Ubuntu) Das hat funktioniert, aber ich habe mich dabei beobachtet, wie ich zu viel Zeit mit Gefrickel (das ist ein böses Wort, nennt es "Optimierung") beschäftigt war.
Und bin dann auf #MacOS umgestiegen - und es war ein Erlebnis. Es funktioniert alles out of the box, Fragen sollte man nicht stellen. Es ist ein echtes Unix, allerdings mit steinalter Software. Dem kann man dank #homebrew oder #macports (das verwende ich) entgehen: fast die ganze OSS-Welt in einer anständigen Paketverwaltung. Das gefällt mir.

Und, wichtig für mich: Lightroom läuft. Nein, es gibt keine Alternative zu Lightroom unter Linux, laßt euch nicht belügen.
Ja, die Hardware ist teuer und läßt sich kaum pimpen. Das relativiert sich aber über die Zeit. Der Rechner meiner täglichen Arbeit (und das sind etwa 9 bis 12 Stunden jeden Tag) ist ein Imac von 2014, hat damals 2300 € gekostet, inklusive geilem 5k-Bildschirm.
Was ich sagen will: Wer also von Win10 weg will oder muß und keinen Bock auf Spaß am Gerät hat, könnte auch über einen Mac nachdenken. Dann freilich mit neuer Hardware, das wäre der einmalige Preis.
@ckutzner Vor gar nicht langer Zeit hab ich Schwiegermutter's alten #AsusK93 und unseren eigenen, 7 1/2 Jahre alten HP #Laptop auf #OpenSUSE umgestellt. Auf letztererem lief auch #Kubuntu bzw. Ubuntu einwandfrei - jedoch, ich bin ein OpenSUSE (Tumbleweed)-Fanboy. 
Auf dem ASUS wäre seit Ende von #Win7 Schluss gewesen, beim HP mit #Win10.
Überhaupt ist unser Haushalt schon seit Anfg. 2018 vollständig mit Linux unterwegs - es fehlt mir an nichts. Ich würd den Umstieg immer empfehlen.
Anybody knows how to convert physical #win10 installation (a disk) to virt-manager image bootable one? Boot part is the problem.

@juliesbits@c.imIn my quest to move away from #Windows and #Microsoft, I bought a used Windows 10 laptop that I will use to learn what I need to know about Linux. I plan to set up the laptop to run both Windows 10 and Linux and then use it to get some hands on experience with Linux.
I have several friends and family members who have Windows 10 computers that are not upgradeable to Windows 11. I hope to get all my Windows computers converted to Linux and also help them convert their computers over to Linux in the next several months. This laptop will be my test case.
I'm a little nervous, but am looking forward to success with Linux. Wish me luck! (and I'll appreciate any tips or advice experienced Linux users have for me)

Wow, wenn man als Privatperson MS mehr Daten in ihre #Cloud schiebt, bekommt man länger Sicherheitsupdates für #Win10. 
Wer's noch nicht getan hat, sollte sich nun Linux für seine Rechner überlegen.
Unter anderem bei Veranstaltungen wie den Grazer Linuxtagen #GLT (#GLT25 war schon) oder #Linux Café demnächst https://gancio.graz.events/event/linux-cafe gibt's Umstiegs-Hilfe von Profis.
Glaubt mir: nach wenigen Tagen merkt ihr gar nicht mehr, dass es kein #Windows ist. Habe etliche Verwandte und Bekannte schon auf Linux migriert - war nach der Erst-Installation alles quasi problemlos. Und euer altes #Notebook ist plötzlich wieder total schnell, alte Scanner bekommen wieder Treiberunterstützung und ihr bekommt plötzlich #Privatsphäre zurück.
