Hey folks, only just about to load stuff on my computer. I've had a fatigued kinda day, where it has taken me ages to do anything.

But I've managed to make a demo coaster for #pyrography. Tomorrow, I'll see if I am capable of making a few in a reasonable period of time. I need to use square corners to get the strip straighter, as well.

But my hand pain had kicked in, so I need to stop drawing.

Latest #pyrography practice. I find patterned spoons a bit twee and stereotypically country-living, but I wanted to try it once.

Whatever wood they used to make our archaic spoons burns really well, even against the grain.

My one win of today is that I've finished my first proper #pyrography project. I have a few "boring" things to work on like mending, treating and then pattern-burning chopping boards. They're uninspiring objects but good things to learn and test with.

There's plenty here I could do better on, but overall I'm happy with it.

Hey folks,

My non-blog week continues. Earlier, I made some progress on the end project for my #pyrography mini-course (the dragon outline).

I have a lot left to do on it, but it took me two attempts to burn an outline I wasn't completely dissatisfied with.

I'm now currently proofreading some of my fiction-writing. But my #Fibro pain is still really high, so I'll end up in a game soon.

I've not been on my computer today, as this bug made my head sensitive. But I've been practising #pyrography again. It's nice to have that singed wood smell around.

This is just practice before doing the final project for the mini #woodburning course wifey bought me.

I just replaced the air filter in our home made complete house air filtration system.

The old filter is on the left, the new one on the right. In four months of absorbing all smoke from our neighbours' fires, firework fumes and dust from motor traffic the filter has gone from being white and translucent to dark and opaque.

Unless we open windows or doors, all the air entering our home comes through this HEPA filter. It removes a lot of the particulates as well as the smell of smoke that sometimes lingers outside. As a result, we definitely have more healthy air in our home now than we did before I build the air filtration system.

Okay, I'm officially on the hunt for recommendations for #Woodburning/#Pyrography kits in the UK.

I'd rather not have the soldering-iron type.

I don't want cheap imports from companies that trade on Amazon as most of that is flooded with listings from a certain eastern country.

I can't go full-expensive, but I have some funds to play with too.

My last kit died and wifey bought me an online course for Christmas. I'd like to get back into it.
